The Humble Tree
The gust of wind is ever so slight
But it lifts the seed on wings of air
And it is borne upon the breeze in flight.
Amid the gusts and flurries
The rain pours down and the seed is carried
to soft fingers of the earth, unhurried.
Nestling snugly in the earth
the seed slips deeper down,
washed by the rain into the earth.
Later a green shoot...

MAGIC MOON TREE
Moon Angel we talk through the moon
Sun rise at dawn settle at noon
Evening comes and darkness is ours
Oh blissfull darkness you give us the stars
Night streams and moon beams
Glistening waters
Reflecting on lessons the night Time
has taught us.
The blessings it brought us
Still many lessons and magic to come
Magical teachers the stars moon and sun
Yes there were hard times and th...

She Felled My Tree
before doing a runner
she cut down my tree
pine needles all over
festive debris to see
fairy dead on the rug
each bauble smashed
lights cables tangled
my Christmas dashed
should have twigged it,
axe-heads lit her eyes
our rapport splintering
ate my last mince pies
a forest of complaints
calling me dead wood
unhappy with my log
called my p...

BONSAI
Bonsai tree you are to me a magical form of life in a tree
In order to be at your perfection
Uniquely fed and nurtured by section
Treated with love from top to bottom
With pretty green leaves
You may start to blossom
What ever you give blessed be your owner
A bonsai for friend wont make you a loner
Oh beautiful bizarre miniature tree
I shall name you and love you
Bring magic to me

Needles Under The Tree
History will wash its hands of 2020
Wuhan bats and disposable masks,
Just another year in human annals
Fodder for future historians' tasks
Who'd have thought it a year ago?
A holocaust of innocent old dears
Lockdowns and social distancing
I always felt it would end in Tiers
Hand gel and hissing ventilators
Dodgy oxygen levels all the rage,
Vulnerable citizen...

Chocolate Tree
There once stood a chocolate tree, a bearer of desires.
Its leaves melted when it inhaled passion.
Its fruits of fire
Set ablaze lands, verdant and barren.
Its bark was festooned in ribbons
Of rich gold and smooth caramel.
Like Midas' touch, gluttony abundant,
The tree was nothing short of magical.
I basked in the shadow of the canopy
Atop the chocolate capped grass bl...

Tree of death
The Tree Of Death - Poem by Marie
It was a really lovely tree
Roots deep spread underground
Its beauty made the people smile
They came to see it from miles around
Then one day a mad man came
Hung himself on a branch
Now passers by say its cursed
They never give it a second glance
Man took its beauty and destroyed it
His corpse rotted hanging from that tree
Now no one will go near...

Assay
An uprooted tree lies ebbing in the street.
The one who pledged everyone with a refuge
is herself in exigent need.
People come, see the fallen one.
Not a soul seems to be concerned.
Zero, zilch, nada, none.
They don't remember
those cloistered, sizzling infernos of June
those solitary, shivering nights of witchy new moons
and those
sodden, sultry volleys of pouring monsoons

Treedom
Listen to the illusory silence
of the growing arborial
presence parading itself
in the garden of our world.
A stillness that betrays
the ever renewing and
rejuvenating life-giving form.
Imperceptible impressions,
a virtuosity in itself,
claiming no prize
except its own existence.

Love Seed
To win my heart, cross my roads
To get my love, you knock my doors
Let's to start, to earn cruise
To build a nest within love rose
Adore you much, looking forward
To keep in touch, even one word
Eager to fly, to reach sward
Where your face, shines on board
You're the star, you're my sun
You're in heart, the only one
Grow love seed, before ge...

Roots we choose
We support one another
Like roots do trees
Holding one another up
Whenever they should bleed
Our bonds become stronger day by day
As our anxieties slowly fade away
Even when people should try to collude
We won't be pitted against one another
And should I ever be forced to choose
I would pick those who support me like the roots
Of the trees that stand so tall, as you enable me to

Family Tree
I'm afraid to have kids
What if they get my depression
Or addiction
Or fucking alcoholism?
What am I supposed to say to them?
"Sorry kiddo,
Suck it up.
You'll soon find out,
Life just fucking sucks"
It's just not fair
To pass on an ongoing burden
To watch my kid suffer
Knowing that I can't relieve them
They're supposed to be protected
But I can't save them from themself
It jus...

100 Reasons to Plant a Tree
Add them up and there must be
one hundred reasons to plant a tree:
The buds of May inlaid with dew. 1
The verdure of the summer leaves. 2
Winter twigs -a filigree 3
against the sky’s gunmetal hue.
Refreshing shade when days are hot, 4
and autumn colours -red and gold. 5
Rot down leaves to make leafmould 6
and mulch it rou...

CHRISTMAS TREE
Booties on the tree
for him or for me...
---
My mind is in a miasma
sight blinded
In a dream like state
trying to peek thru
what did I do
lose them along the way
---
Thoughts and visions begin
to dance in my mind
Pictures of him and me
I try to find
---
Instead nightmares
run thru my head
Lies choke me like a python getting ready to eat it's prey

The Evil Tree
I'm going to tell you a story, which was genuinely one of the most terrifying moments of my life. I'd always been quite cynical about the idea of ghosts and demons and spiritualism, but this moment changed that for me and made me realise that actually, we are NOT alone in this world. Please, I know and understand the cynicism of most on this topic, but I can assure you that I have not invented any...

A Tree In The Elephant's Graveyard
A Tree In The Elephant’s Graveyard
It began with a pen
and paper,
beneath a tree.
Carried here
upon a rat
to rest awhile.
The paper was white
and stared at me
insolently.
The pen hovered,
dripping ink
like tears.
A serpent
coiled itself
around My neck.
I thought of stars
and dreamt
of gouache landscapes.
Still the paper
would not
fuck the pen.
My thoughts
were clear,
...

Beech Tree (lyric)
Beech tree save breeze for me
Hideaway for highwaymen
high above broken ground
stealing souls
of maiden's hearts
Soaked in rain was my way
now blue skies do the same
sunny days
- are all the same
Walk away the tunnel way
to Highgate Hill and down again
find your mates
have your share
Hidaway for you and me
I wish we were born to be

The Spirit of The Tree

Did You Hear Something?
if a tree falls and nobody is there should it make a recording
so that we all may hear it scream, tweet, so the birds that one day called it home
can carry word of it’s strident surrender?
maybe this tree is happy to fall and rest in quiet reflection
of it’s once verdant splendour, at peace with its latest role
as the newest crossing over the forest stream and
re...

CHRISTMAS TREE
Is anything sadder than a Christmas tree
Abandoned by the bin bags?
Rejected with the empty cans
Discarded on cold stone flags.
Is anything sadder than a Christmas tree
Alone on a NewYear pavement?
It seems to say "Remember me -
And all the joy I once meant".
Is anything sadder than a Christmas tree
In a dust-cart - lost to sight?
It seems to...

Balloons in the tree
Pass me the toys I'll play with you
lets load the riffle let the bullet go loose!
Who's gonna shoot the balloons in the tree?
Who's gonna pull the knives out of me?
Your little sister now owns your touch
cook for the robots 'cause they fought for us
we'll never let the kite go fly free
we never ever will let you leave
So you've really got it going

The Tree
Once this fine tree graced a forest.
Natures noble green giant.
Birds nested and played amongst the leaves.
Searched for insects in the tough brown bark of the tree
Safe and secure in its green canopy.
Whilst berries and nuts in abundance during summer
Sustained many, through the harsh cold of the dark winter months.
Squirrels lived aloft, high above the...
