Our songs
Clean and beautiful they once were
Our ears now so dirty with no cure
Music used to sooth and curess
Yet now our ears are pounded and stressed
Is there only one tempo now
For all to March to with a scowl?
Lost in the reverb of modernity
Scarecely heard through uncertainty
Our house was a very nice house
With variation of sounds waving through
Not pounding or...

The Delicates
They chatter life and love by the water’s edge
then dive into the shimmering blue
With thoughts of painting ice cream clouds
or bottling the phosphorus moon
Daylight is for dreaming
or cooking up a stew
The waking hours are for birthing art
or making love in the hot afternoon
Tonight, there’ll be a gathering at the Dolphin café
with wine and smiles in generous measures
mosquito nets b...

The things that never will (or was it the Will that never thinks? Honestly it's been so long that I forgot)
I stargaze in my own room,
with thought of holding you.
The melody of songs I don't know,
make me wonder what there is to behold.
With a gentle laugh,
I stand starstruck by your words.
Like a child I stand below it all,
seeing colour that aren't letting you go,
as the stars paint a portrait of your smile,
I am caught stargazing in my own room.
And the sky turns back to white,
as t...

The melodic grass
This music,
it makes me want to fall from the water
float in the sky,
stare at those lips
and kiss those green eyes,
drink from the clouds
and jump on the pond
to feel the stars
and gaze at the stones,
the rythms , the notes
melt my mind
ignite my visible voice
I'm not here nor there
maybe inside a void
floating on the blues
maybe its a d...

My Songs
Songs of love and happiness
Erase all my feelings of sadness
Wipe away these tears
And all my fears
Nothing but blue
When I'm living with you
Nothing but blue
When I'm listening to you,
My songs of sadness
When I wake in the morning
You’re the first thing I want to hear
Start my day with you ever so near
Songs close to my heart
May we never part
I listen to you,
My songs of sa...

Songs From The Womb
Through my life I’ve collected voices
maybe twice a decade a new singer comes to me
and I can’t let it pass by
without holding tight
Through the years certain songs seem magnetic, somehow
whole albums written in a style I know too well
for it to be coincidence
and I have to hold it close
When Joni sings of ‘skating away’
something jumped out of the speakers
and Leonard says a ‘highwa...

tick tok
My heart it beats fast such a rythem that can't be classed
As a heart tick tok tick tok tick tok
MAY my magic be cast on your heart it will last... like a king from the past
My heart in another body ...when every body wore portrait pins instead of body art and tattoo a portrait that you...
Painted so blindly of me ..this you see what I see
In flight with the Eagle you soare you soare

Diary Of The Southern Queen Entry #6 {His Rhythm}
{Diary Of The Southern Queen Entry #6} {His Rhythm}
His rhythm of
his songs played
like the sickest
twisted dead of a
deafening whistling
whisper's through
the cold northern
lights that only
the animals could
hear that kept
them howling
by the bay from the
amusement of his
meaningless song
that continues to
play his sickened
twist...

I am I without a name!
I am I
Without a name
I am I still
Without a name
You may wish to call me in the dark of night
You may wish to reach out,
When I am out of sight,
You may wish to write me a poem,
A song or a sonnet
What name shall you then
Write upon it,
So precious name,
You are not in vain,
Addressing this house, this body, this frame,
Though it too will change...

Mermaid Song
O, mermaid of the moonlight,
You sang so sweetly in the
Midst of the lake. I recall
The music of your voice,
The freedom of your chords.
Vision of delight, you sat
Silhouetted against the moon,
Your hair waving in the spray,
Your breasts dancing with
The motion of your arms
As you played the sea lute.
Such a fragrant night you
Must have felt the urge to
Rise up from the depths
Of t...

my cousin simone
Now let me tell you a little rhyme,
About one of the greatest cousins of all time.
She’s feisty, funny and all so pretty,
Plus did i mention she’s all so witty.
She has hair so long and fair, I can’t help but stop and stare.
She set up her own little business,
Which was all about food forgiveness,
Promoting her juice plus,
Which she goes to meetings to discuss.
How these...

Puzzles To Speak After You
Disappearing, out of view
always so smooth
always too soon
you make disappearing cool
When you slipped away
left puzzles to speak after you
let them say whatever’s needed
an exit so expertly executed
I wasn’t always a fan of you
such strange clothes
too out of time
so far removed from me
I didn’t know what you could say
that could ring true for me
I never thought there could be a...

WANDSWORTH WUFFIAN
Five years and nine months
Can you tell what it is yet?
It's not long enough
So whilst on 'A' Wing
Bend down to pick up your soap
Whilst in the shower
No 'Two Little Boys'
Just 'Jake the Peg's middle leg
Summary justice
A didgery-doo
Try your Kangaroo court sport
It's coming to you
Then why no remorse?
Banged up at portrait's pleasure
L...

my 1st ever poem published as ode to Alanis in the pill issue 3 Alanis morrissette zine in late 96
THE TRAGEDY OF SONG
She sings in such hushed vocal tones one second, ...
then she shatters glass in an attack of tragic beauty the next.
The truths and traumas of life seem so real and painful when her voice glides over them,
after all, isn’t this the life that you and I and her live?
We ar...

The Template of my Being
Been there
Done it
Eaten it
Drunk it
Almost drowned in it
Nearly died
Praised it
Cursed it
Dodged it
Traversed it
Just you name it
I’ll have tried
Smoked it
Snorted it
Been traumatised by it
Reduced to tears by it
Laughed and cried
Run it
Walked it
Chased it
Caught it
Wished I hadn’t bothered s...

Moor Music
The shrill piping call of the returning Curlew
Contrasting with the lonely peep- peep of Golden Plover
Plaintive note of Peewit carried on the wind from its arching flight
Wading birds reclaiming their share of the corduroy moorland
Nesting sites found on drier ground among ling and crowberry
Ascending notes of Skylark lift the spirit and raise hopes
Honk of Raven ...

FADE
FADE
I fade away to nothing because you're not here. I know you exist. You're my contemporary who achieved great things. My twin flame. I want to steal you from your boyfriend by winning your heart and seducing you with my poetry. I know your language and will capture you, no matter what karma. Naomi stole David and they built something together. Trish and I will do the same. Her song...

The Prettiest Music
The heat switches between the rooms
From the front of the house, to the back
And on the bed, your curled form is laid
I'm watching the sky as it cries in the street
Blowing my nose and counting the people
They all carry bags of food to their cars
Filled with treats and sweet desserts
All insults to the hunger pains in my chest
As I move to the kitchen, you stir for a second
This day is ...
