Whispers of Loneliness

Wearing a smile, but it's just a show,

Loneliness whispers, won't let go.

In the crowd's noise, a silent plea,

Heartache murmurs, longing to be free.

Behind laughter's mask, a tale untold,

Loneliness unfolds, a story unfolds.

They feed on tears, a bitter taste,

In solitude's grasp, emotions embraced.

Moving with shadows, the soul steps back,

Loneliness stay...

Bold & Silent

I turned the volume down so I could hear you.

Everything is still too loud.

Too many voices, and not the one I needed to hear.

I want to hear.

Mourning that lasted for nine hundred sixty four days.

Salty tears soaked waterlogged greenery.

Droopy head. Droopy leaves.

Pruning a root bound plant

Repot.

Acclamation felt like dormancy

Dormancy was intense

Lef...

Tearboats

Cry me a river

so I know you can feel

the heartache which splits me apart

in hopes you will come

with a stick of glue

get me that violin

and sing me a song

for I’d play,

until my fingers fell off

just to hear you sing along

or come kiss me goodnight

bless me with your gentle touch

and look at me with those glittering stars

so I may fall asleep

Eden

I found my bliss

Heading south on the A23

She’s a rollerskate

He’s a magnet

Like the easy way

Water slides down your throat.

Me, a pearl of existence

Gently cooking in this black car

Heat. From July. Discomfort

In the way my baths

Are always stifling.

A glissando of tyres

Droning down to the coast

Under a weatherless sheet

Of baby blue...

友人 (Yūjin)

I let loneliness devour my thoughts whole,

As it ravenously waits to ingest my heart and take complete control,

It feasts upon my joy leaving emptiness to consume my soul.

holding on

Broken sensations flood the brain,

attempting analysis would be in vain,

a relentless emotional maelstrom,

wreaking havoc in the mind’s kingdom.

The weather has settled,

a calm both before and after a storm,

stuck in a time loop,

ashen nimbi gather around with scorn.

A shattered refraction pierces the veil,

unveiling islands in various shades of gray,

Grandeur

Living beneath the wind,
How easy it is not to reach for the stars.
But sleeping beneath the moon,
How can we not yearn?

Touched by infinity,
Where do we place the next step?
Conscious of eternity,
We must ever go on.

In all of this grandeur, I should feel so small.
Soaking it into every pore,
I wonder.

In all this variety, I must seem so dull.
Watching the intricacy,
I learn.

Crusoe's Inflatable

in acute distress is where I was

firing flares or else lighting fires

engraving SOS on the sandy beach

for want of any telegraph wires

I watched for sails on the horizon

every day I searched the skies

I kept a careful log of my every day,

alone, its amazing how time flies

I quickly got sick of coconuts

fish all began to taste the same

The Recipe of Solitude

I embellish my arms with bangles

As thick as two strands of hair.

Their raucous cackles

Suffuse the tepid air.

Air that's fragrant with spices

I add to my copper pots.

Air whose redolence

Reminds me of what I've lost.

The dough that I mould

Sans a scintilla of strain,

Boasts imprints of my knuckles manifold,

Knuckles on which those kisses still linger, ...

Meeting in Solitude

Minds meeting
words spoken
stories shared
world is hushed
but inside we are all screaming
waiting for the tomorrows
when our meetings will be filled with embraces,
with kisses,
with reading a silent stare
and we will know what they mean
not just from a frozen screen
but for a reflection of all time

We are all waiting for the tomorrows
we will no longer meet in solitude
but a meetin...

How To Be Alone

Waiting for a friend
sipping tea, sunglasses on
passers-by double and disappear
as reflections in shop windows
everything lit golden
then dimmed behind my lenses
I stir the drink some more

Waiting for a friend
they’re half an hour late now
I barely notice
just watch the people
let my mind wander
the liquid turning in the cup

And it hits me, squarely, there
on the corner by the cr...

You & Me

You & Me

Together we may see the Devil Dance

& together we may see God cry in vain

How Our typical eyes

So often only notice the typical guise

Like so many on this sphere I know

You’re undervalued

Lost like a sailor in the vast ocean blue

Come along with me

Let me make you feel new

I’ll caress every ...

Love, Me

Beautiful dreamer

take solace with me

and a soft melody.

I will soothe you,

woo you,

set your spirit free.

You are never alone

when you love me.

The Promise

It has been so many years

since that moment of truth

when finally you were truly alone

It has been so many years

since you flew with the flames

as the organ played

something

and I looked out at the distant horizon

seeing you there drifting away

into finality

It has been so many years

since I made you a promise

I could not keep

You said

Do no...

Five minutes more

Please.

Just five minutes more.

Just five more minutes alone, in the quiet

Before I walk through that door

Return to the noise

And heed the voices.

Just five more minutes

Before I resume my duties

The chores that are never done

The battles that will never be won.

Just five minutes more to call my own

Before I become once more the exclusive property of cha...

Threshold

When I wonder what's wrong
When I think whats going on
A Voice said 'this is what you did
Not much love exists to feed.
Tides will not change the future
Might just believe it, forever
Believed that the eyes I see
Truth in them will set me free.
Taking a huge dose of the drug
Never know what's beneath the rug
Chemical changes inside me
They will not let me be.
Let me be the free bird fl...

And Now I'm Old

This poem carries faint echoes of winter in a Mediterranean climate, in this case the South West of Western Australia; limpid skies, stormclouds threatening, people in overcoats walking hastily. Rather like an English summer, I would have thought!

And Now I'm Old

And now I'm old as softening apples

left forgotten on a sideboard

after a windy day,

the murmur of the evening room

THE UNKNOWN

Never have I  not ponder over you, but seeing you everyday is like a fresh air.Never have I seen the the innermost part of that deep sea which you always carry but I have hope.

Never have I not wished for us but fate is like a game between two players seking a goal. Everyday I feel these monsters with me but my thoughts keep on searching for a new light.

Never have you wished for me again, n...

Solitude

Solitude is mysterious

Solitude is strange

It can feel bliss'd, but it can render

Every time, it can always range.

*

It's when time smites me wrong

Or I'm feeling depressed

I'd join a lonely room for company

And tell it how I was stressed.

*

But what if you can't stand it,

What if you're pining for just anyone?

Keep seeking; in a world founded on those who care,

Solitude's serenity

Solitude's serenity.

Hard won.

Solace in loneliness achieved only post-turmoil.

Mind-spin thought-paths create anxiety, confusion.

Smash-render peace elusive illusion.

Prevent slow succour-drift.

Heart-ache loneliness from gut-yearn apprehension resists calm.

Peace in tranquility hideous-mind forbidden.

Persistent thought-loops cover unpalatable memories, memes, paradi...

Work Day's End

WORK DAY ENDS

The work day leaves around me.

I do not share the rush to cars or beers or childcare pickup.

I do not need to slice the everyday’s hot cord

that doesn’t fuel my energy, my need

to prove I can - mostly to myself.

I let the walker-talkers move

somewhat shy of stampede down halls

too long for anything but gale-strong drafts,

up hills too steep for anything but...

Clear Blue Air

Withdraw

Recharge

No need to respond

No talking

No noise

Just silence

Purity found in clear blue air

Sunshine on freckles and wind in my hair

Blocking out

Blanketing

Breathing in deep

Clinging to emptiness

Found on the brink

To talk is to torture

You butcher my peace

Chatter incessantly

Shattering harmony

solitude

There is a beauty in solitude only the solitary know. There is a sadness in being lonely, only the lonely can know. In solitude and loneliness, in beauty and sadness, the most beautiful poetry of feeling can be known. Indefinable, inexpressible, Oceanic bliss-like satori. A brief enlightenment when the light breaks through the darkness, a glint, a hint of perfect, untouched beauty perfect a...
