INSIDE A CHRISTMAS CARD

INSIDE A CHRISTMAS CARD

Inside a Christmas card
From prisoners afraid,
In a factory in China
Where nothing much is paid,
A handwritten message
From poor souls enslaved,
In oppressive conditions
Where festive things are made.

Telł somebody beg the authors
The truth about this trade,
That those who make big money
Our wretched lives degrade
So in this season of goodwill

THE BANK JOB

As I peddled, hell for leather, down the hill upon my bike,

I saw the lights TURN RED, ahead, a sight i didnt like,

My bicycle was ancient, it only had one brake

It took some time in slowing down.... of that there's no mistake

I duly pulled the brake on but the bike just kept on going

SO NOW HE,S GROWN

Once there was a special lad, dinky little mite
He wasn,t very big at all, his stature very slight

Savaged Soul

If I knew your poetry would suddenly
disappear,
I would have memorized
every poem,
to comfort me
when I feel alone.
Your words help heal
my savaged soul.
I'm sad you had to go.

Thank God for kindred spirits

this lyrical love affair

that consumes our days

and lights up starless nights,

that eases the strife

of a messed up life,

that creates a paradise,

In search of an identity......

All I see is a mist of darkness,
With nowhere to thread my feet in,
In World where there is absence of kindness,
I see a light of hope so thin.
I can’t go on; my body and my soul are giving in,
There’s no fire in belly to seek reasons for my quest,
With efforts and motivation of my kith and kin,
Now, I go along the path where the birds fly in the air so clean.

FOREST STORIES

I last wrote about our five quite some time back,

a time when, for each of them, you and I (and mostly you)

still weighed in and sparred, day on day, in any cause,

on standby should they slip or fall – though close at hand is, perhaps,

the better way to say it, the gentle way to convey a sense of

Wish you were here,
to break down all the differences,
to shake down all the borders,
to melt down all the distance,
to connect all the figures

What else could, what else could confront us?
In the same way we breath,
in the same way we cry,
wish you were here,

Why Poems?

Poems are my photographs
my diary
my inner monologue
poems are my measurement
my record
the fingerprints of emotions

Poems are my expression
the sum of interactions
they show my working out
Poems are the breath
of lost lovers
against my neck
Poems are my kisses
for my family and my friends
the hugs I seldom give

WHERE IS THE MAGIC? - ALEXIS KARPOUZOS

oceans and galaxies inside us.

Pen down the lines after so many days!

Perhaps I owe it to her – all my happiness;

Realized after so many days!

Her eyes aren’t just eyes, my desires flourished;

She scaled after so many days!

The pen stained in the her memory penned everything,

Magically itself after so many days!

placed on parchment in the darkness
the line is thin from me to you, each other's mind paint the others dreamscape

drawn to you, the flip book of life brings us ever closer as every moment pass
each page bookmarked and in immediate view, I pray always my spine hold from the load placed on you

On Being a Poet

Poets are renowned for navel gazing and being introspective. Here are three poems to prove the point. But hey, all navels need an occasional inspecting now and then. :)

A Mother's Day Poem for that Special Woman in your life. Enjoy!

The Last Rose

On a snowy day,

In a dimly lit street,

An ailing girl, utterly dismayed

Perches under the canopy of an enormous tree.

Looking heavenward,

But all that comes to her are snowflakes, frosty and brittle.

She tears the icy veneer of the earth

With her gloved fingers.

Poetry and the Cross-Pollination of Artistic Platforms

When people see a spectacular dancer,
They say, “Oh, that’s poetry in motion!”

And then they might see a moving painting,
And say, “That painting says it all—It’s like a poem!”

And good musicians are just considered poets.
I mean, Bob Dylan won a God-damned Nobel Prize
In literature, didn’t he?

But it doesn’t stop there. I’ve heard motorcycle
Races described at “pure poetry in action...

Pretty Messy Things

The poetry is pretty perhaps,

And some may appreciate the aesthetics

While being put off by the messiness

Of the content, preferring a tidy theme.

And maybe you could clean it up

A bit to avoid making the prigs uncomfortable.

For example, and let us forget people have sex.

The world so soaked in gory blood and violence...
Dormant lies the virtues of love and benevolence..

Cacophony of deafening debates and discussions..
Have choked and silenced our inner expressions..

There is an inner voice which impregnates the apodectic soul to have the right to write what truly is our creation
About tales of our simple lives, crafting joys, trials and tribulations......

our sanities were the ones that remain,
something so plain,
brought us joy,
one sentence only comes to mind,
nothing will ever ruin this.

Yeah, the week went by,
never believed that time can fly,
but here we are,
another Saturday,
and yo...

The Day Full of Warm Fondling

trailing the sun all day
always present your shadow
there is worry about
swinging in this chest
when I can't help you load

imagine your rhythmic day is not easy
should we be together with the ocean
take waves of restless storm ripples
although you don't have to
give up thousands of beatings

realize I'm just here
to accompany your heart
I accept your frustration
to reduce your anxi...

Talking to my Tummy

Butterflies escaped my belly button

Maybe it was that I was too cold to feel nervous

A race horse inside her looped track

For being cool and real comes easier than-

Smiling and faking my personality

Like so many have told me to be.

If everyday was an interaction with the same-

Artists or like minded,

My life would be a giant inspiration.

People like me,

It seems,

O...

Mother's Wings

My fluttering monarch wings aren’t a show of-

Love.

Rather a defect of being denied it,

Here again after I thought happiness found-

Me.

Your northeastern chill demeanor

An icicle that stabbed my heart and your weapon-

Melted

I’m still standing and like cupid with his arrow

I’m bleeding all of you.

I never said I wanted it to be easy hue

Of a dark blood red love.

The Beast is Me

This is absolute codswallop

my aura remains infectious

it moves in waves

it's fluctuant

and yet I evade another performance of mine-

like a shirk.

When i should be competitively ruthless  as a shark

but, like a snake I slither away unnoticed

Typical Erin the artist a renowned flake

As a starving artist I feel it's my obligation to give the-

audience one hell of a perf...

Disney Days

Below is one of my children's poems called 'Disney Days'.

DISNEY DAYS

Warmer than a Sheep Dog hug
or happiness rolled in a rug;
dancing dizzy Dulux joy,
whirls and swirls and shouts ‘Ahoy!’

Brighter than a scientist,
the artist’s pallet shines and skips.
Free from Greenwich Mean Time days,
they demonstrate their West End ways.

Talent dazzles, beaming light
into the insides of o...

Come

All around this town
assumed that you got an idea to go back,
you know that they can't be around
all the lights that swallows lights
that brings you
down.

For any..
for any day.

And please don't hang quite high
as you used to do.
I can still follow you down in the same way
that i used to do.
There are thousand and more and more ways \
of coming through.
And we can
dance the life

A triolet

I am yet to surrender to the ways of heart..
Knocking  on the vestige of conscience is incessant ..
The euphoria and the magic though they impart..
I am yet to surrender to the ways of heart..
One hears the mellifluous notes of the Mozart...
But the fate is sealed from the very start..
All those dreams are nothing but effervescent..
I am yet to surrender to the ways of heart..
Yes, the...

The Bending..

The bent of path changes the destination..
The bent of light alters the reflection..
The bent of state chaperons life into motion.
The bent of mind culminates a distant vision..
It is the unique bent of life which transforms..
Creates an amazing collage of diversiforms.....

God's Question

Does a lie has feet or walk
Only liars have more than two
Don't listen to a lie as a joke
Then will help lies to grow

God will ask; why do you lie?
So get ready for God's punishment.
Me, you, them, surely will die
Should keep ready for last statement

Get back soon to the early pureness
And stop cheating creatures
Just in case you look for happiness
Be f...

Believe to Live

Be happy with what you have
Then you will have what you hope
Firmly, work and save
Simply, you reach the top

It depends on you more
Than a reason or a cause
Not because rich and poor
Your brain, how much knows

Do believe in God's Judging
And gain your thought results
God never asks a jumbling
But to be aware of the facts

MATES

Glad to hear your voice
Happy to be with you
Always, you're very nice
Whatever you say or do

Lucky, to be your friend
To share you fact and fun
Forever together no end
Shining heart as the sun

Among thousand fans
We're the mates in reality
Sharing act and talks
Hearts believe in Honesty

Tears

They trickle  down ebbing the pain of bygone days..
They celebrate joyous times fervidly
Silent spectators, intensely flowing with craze..
They best know my soul and captures it so vividly ..

She being an uncertain insane

How beautiful everything seems, even all happen contrary

Don't get the idea whether it's a dream, reality or a story

Neither she feel regret nor any worry,

It's a kind of feeling which has made her heart awry.

Continuously only for that face her eyes seeks.

All the time you can see her those  blushing cheeks

Fot her, one day without him passes like a week

Terence Evans

Terence Evans had little respect

For the life or the welfare of any insect

He swatted the fly with the rolled daily news

And stamped on the beetle in his Doc Marten shoes

Unfortunate spiders were drowned in the bath

Caterpillars were crushed should they dare cross his path

He bisected worms with his pocket penknife

Pulled the legs off cray-fly and...

Reach The Peak of Romance

during our blue night together
cold our body has become embers
I embrace you in exciting love
and we'll fly to the seventh sky

I stroked your soft black hair
touched your cheeks looks pink
our lips never stop kissing then
spread our passion flow pleasure

our fondling is warmly directed
in beautiful and sensitive senses
gasping for breath spurred passion
enjoy our human instincts

Unforgettable Togetherness

we embrace in the warmth of love
flowing our long-held desires
panting enjoying a kiss
we express sincere passion for longing

at first the doubt felt like a dream
but obviously we have united ourselves
live when fulfilling the will of instinct
time becomes meaningful to two hearts

a little regret why it's only now
we feel like we are out of control
so long we are stuck in a wallow sa...
