Smiles

Upon first glance,

I see a Hollywood smile,

an air of intrigue greets passers by.

But, when I look into her eyes,

I see something much different

than her pursed lips convey.

Reservation, disappointment,

distrust, trauma, fear...

all pushed down, covered

with happy highlights

for the world to see.

Perhaps, it’s simply a reflection

of my insecurities,

to my body

my brain was a savage

and im sorry i let so many undeserving hands ravage your fragile parts

i didnt think you were worth enough, so thats why i continued to pick and prod, my judgement was tough

im sorry i ripped you to pieces

but now im learning to love all of your creases

Love Lessons

He loves her but,
she loves him,
but he loves the mirror
like his lost love loves selfies.

Adoration, pointing every direction,
like weather vanes in a hurricane.

Each unware their

Love lessons often repeat
until we understand that
real love begins within,
then overflows to others,

making the circle of love
complete.

Reflections of old wake

as memories overtake

the waterfall of tears

which draws oh so near.

Waves of empty promises

splash against thi...

A Noun in White Open Space

A noun all alone in the white open space is at risk,

if it doesn't know its own definition or purpose.

Without knowing its identity, this noun may search for a verb.

Once it finds this verb, it may begin to become active.

After it is active, it may come to dwell upon passive.

Should this be the case, it may call itself just a subordinate clause.

Still without the sense of cause, ...

Taking The Back Seat.

I look into your eye but their not the same colorful vibrant eyes I once knew. After years of being hurt, used, abused and cheated on, you're only a shadow of who you once were. No more do you trust guys, you've given up hope of all that is love and trust you come to me to vent to, to let your tears out. It seems you can't even trust me. I won't ever leave I will show you what real love is if give...

Spring Tanka

A winter bite that

mocks the spring, pincers its cocoon.

A life supported?

Cease one's internal decay,

Even ice melts. Love's fluidity.
