The Game Changed

Walking down this endless road,

Never knowing which way to go.

Each path seems dark,

each breath

harder than the last,

constantly hiding from the past.

I try to find the strength to move on,

But each time I do, you still want to have

your fun. When will it sink in?

You will never win.

I’m done playing,

You might think you’re staying.

Truth is you’re as temp...

I left before the end

I wouldn’t trust a poet to draw machine gun fire

to run out into no-mans-land,

unless it was Orwell or Owen

they’d have their literary futures planned.

Stolen words lifted that roll off the tongue

plagiary gifted the soullessly dumb,

strutting and fawning in dimly lit bars

reciting their plunder like poetry Tzars.

Train-line cheap tickets

off peak day sav...

Heretic

My studies have given me a legacy of interest in many and wide-ranging social, moral and ethical fields and concerns, as well as the politics of power. This piece is a manifestation of that legacy.

"The world is splitting open at my feet like a ripe, juicy watermelon." Sylvia Plath.

On her gravestone: “Even amidst fierce flames, the golden lotus can be planted.” Wu Ch'Eng-En.

A plagiary of art and the deceit of politics in 2016

entry picture

Is this a decision I see before me?

I see it

yet have it not.

My thought is clear

yet clarity is subverted

by the visions of others.

For am I not blind

cast upon their wisdom?

those,

granted knowledge in action

which surpasses my dull mind.

Or do they confuse purposely

whilst hoarding their future estates?

Knowing the days ahead

would...

Revelation

entry picture

It cuts deep within,
Its' touch gentle and soft.
It barks and howls,
Its' voice lovely and calm.

Its' thoughts are demeaning,
Its' love unconditional.
Its' presence a weight,
Pride churned in the ridicule.

It beats you to your knees,
But your kneecaps don't agree.
You stand on your feet,
While the blades stab in deep.

The scars show malformity,
Yet the face shows ever delight.

This England

entry picture

In piss stained gutters

anger and regret has flowed across ages.

Supped away by the lured and the lied to.

“There's many a slip 'twixt cup and lip”

as there’s many a lie

seen good men die.

So tonight when men bereft of pride

puke and fight in England’s streets,

they do as if to cower and hide

from futures lost to great deceit.

Dedicated to the abandone...

Lusting Sin

Lust consumes those who fall or the trap

Confusion or jealousy twitches above eyes

Desire to amount to more than the simplicity of existing

Desire to feel desired

Tender affection is rejected by violin strings of broken beings

Sympathy will be forbidden, the truth hidden

Blackness only welcomes sin.

Smokey Mirrors and Lust

Over and over again the word disappoints me

I trust and I believe then it comes back and bites me
Friendship
Such a lonesome relationship
And I often wonder if it's me
I often wonder what the possibility
Is that I'll be deserving
The chances seem low and it's concerning.
So I've decided that I'm conserving,
My love, my kind sentiments, my secrets
For someone far...

THE LIE

entry picture

How can a lie

make the whole world cry,

yet they claim there is nothing to see,

where nefarious knaves

and the covetous crave

beneath covers so stealthily, free?

No thought for the plebs

as they weave dangerous webs

in a world already complex,

where the sins of the saints

have done nothing but taint,

confuse, deceive and perplex.

To forgive and forget,

THE WRAITH

THE WRAITH

We met on a cold and stormy day
The words were mute, they were taken away
The howling wind blowing wild through the trees
The breath from our mouths deceived with ease

I felt a dread as we met in stealth
You didn't ask for gifts or wealth
Your goals were set in insidious ways
Not even a glint in your eye to betray

You crept into my life like an assassins wraith
Attacki...

My Beautiful Lie

I hide behind a lie forged by my hand,
Before this chiseled frame,
Beyond the perfect shell they will not see my deceit
Thrown acrimoniously at their feet.
But they love the lie, the truth would only disappoint;
Disarray their shallow intentions,
After all, my invention pleases them
So why not let them drink up the joy
That it possesses? It impresses their eyes,
How the lies...

Para Dice

Para Dice

It's oh so nice in Para dice
Where your numbers are bound to show
Take my word and we'll take you there
Hurry up now - it's your time to go

Such are the empty promises,
We hear them all the time
Deceitful forms of marketing
Should they not have been made a crime

Some form of holiday making
A prize you won out of the blue
Special deals you just cant pass up
Many...
