The Stage of Deceit

entry picture

Donald Trump Jr. resorts to grotesque manipulation in his latest PR stunt in Greenland, exploiting the homeless and downtrodden to create an illusion of support for his father. This cold-hearted scheme reveals a family willing to go to any lengths for a false image—no matter how embarrassing or degrading. The staged scenes in Nuuk, with homeless people wearing MAGA hats for a free meal, expose a deplorable level of deceit and shame in the Trump clan. A disgusting display of exploitation, it’s clear that nothing is beneath them.

Trump Jr. arrived in Nuuk’s cold streets,
No welcome, no cheers, just staged deceit.
A plot unfolded, cameras in tow,
To create a lie for the world to know.

Homeless faces, worn and meek,
Pulled into a scene so false, so bleak.
"Put on these hats," the order rang,
"Play your part, don’t make a fang."

A free meal offered, a brief delight,
But dignity lost in the blinding light.
They ate in warmth, but all could see,
Their worth was lost in this mockery.

Trump Jr. grinned as cameras flashed,
While truth and honor were quickly dashed.
No real fans, no loyal voice,
Just extras in a show by choice.

From Nuuk’s streets to a staged display,
A hollow act that led them astray.
A lie so cheap, a show so small,
For Trump’s Clan, the truth means nothing at all.

And for Trump Jr., there’s no line too far,
No mask too thick to hide the scar.
A man who’ll sell anything for a show,
There’s no dignity left, no truth to bestow.

Hello Uilleam,
Thank you once again for your comment!
I appreciate your thoughts and the passion behind them. You're absolutely right in your critique of the direction both the USA and UK seem to be heading. It's hard to ignore how certain political forces, whether through blatant disregard for truth or divisive rhetoric, are eroding the values we hold dear. As you pointed out, the way in which Brexit and movements like Reform are shaping our future only seem to deepen the divide. In that sense, this poem reflects not just the Trump family’s antics but the broader tendency to prioritise spectacle over substance—often at the expense of dignity and truth.

It’s a dark path we're on, where appearances are manipulated for gain, and the cost is paid by those who have little left to give. I share your frustration, and I think this poem is just one of many small ways we can hold a mirror up to that reality, even when it feels overwhelming. Thanks for engaging with it.
Regards,
Rolph

Thanks Rolph.
The USA and the UK are hand in hand in a race to the bottom, in morality, politics and economics; and there's plenty of MAGA-admiring-rocking-horse-poop-for-brains in the UK who'll help us get there....Brexit's been a good start....now Reform's got the ECHR in their sights.

As you say, Rolph, nothing is beneath them!
