Unrequited Belief

I've thought about this deeply.

I've given it my all.

I wish I had more than just one head

to beat against this wall.

All the shoulds and shouldnt's blur my vision,

wont's and cant's clog up my ears.

And now everytime someone says "I can"

I burst right into tears.

I stood on top this promise

of a mustard seed so little.

I gave a faith so boldly

and receiv...

Lost Love

To hold you in my arms one last time

To feel your touch even though I knew you weren’t really mine

To feel your lips touch mine and again feel your love

Hoping, dreaming, wishing I could bring you back

Hoping, dreaming, wishing to fix this shattered heart

But a touch, a kiss, my love wasn’t enough

You’re not coming back

You’ve chosen

And it’s clear now

Your love is ...

Forgiveness

You lay in bed at night with thoughts that bring you down

You thought that you were strong, but you were wrong

You relieve the moment when you lost it and went into the dark

You lay there awake wondering if you could have done anything different

Could you have made her stay?

Could you have shown her that you lost your way?

You lay awake because you haven't forgiven yourself

Be...

A Dream Game (Poem)

Dreams of uncertainty

Light up the unsuspecting mind

Floating through the abyss

Needing to be fed by the void inside.

Forming a strange pattern

The illusion once affixed

Veers through the twisted labyrinth

Setting a stage for the hopeful to fall all over.

The heat felt is roused

By this fleeting moment

Mistaking it to be existent

Till it plunges us into a...

On the Edge of a Dream

on the edge of an enchanted forest
rests a do-it-yourself log cabin, a humble home
where chipmunks and squirrels romp
& trees reach up to stick twigged fingers
to the peaceful cotton turquoise sky

next door, a sprawling field sprouts
new corn nursing under an afternoon sun
the air is filled with an ambient symphony of
warbling, twittering, buzzing, barking–
children squealing wild with ...

The Loss Of Those Who Haven't Died

They say hope is such a wonderful thing
Keeps us strong against anything
But be careful what you hope for
Or it will do you in.

So many times I thought I understood
Who people were, and what was good
Only to find, what's left behind
Is broken dreams.

And they say grief is a natural thing
As we get used to what's missing
And find out how to do without
What we used to need.

But the...

just couldn't be

i wake up from the dream with a distinct unease,

everything couldn't simply be the way it ought to be

like a dream vacation

without a room reservation

like a sinking cruise line

with flooding waters rising as i catch my last breath

like hailing a taxi

but it rides off before i could ever reach it

slipping through my fingers

the dreams that couldn't po...

A Drowning Dream.

To learn everyday was what taught to me,
Sinking in an ocean, moving steadily;
It was the ocean of knowledge and believes,
Suddenly the world changed, and power came to cease.

'Look at him, look at her', comparing to the whole world,
Trying my very best, to win in every word.
Becoming a good son, a dear brother and good friend,
But that 'I', was lost in the end.

I became what you want,...

What does the handwriting tell about the person? ( Can you know what food they like? )

I took my notebook out,
just to write a song,
but then I saw you,
and now there's nothing I can do.

After all this time,
in this notebook of mine,
I found your words,
forgotten by time.

Our lives are a mess,
but we're doing fine.

Two months have gone by,
without you near by,
my life is a mess,
yet I'm alright.

Hold on tight to these,
hopeless, broken dreams,
I've never give...

I would....

I would stand infront of your door,
at night, letting the soaring rain pour.
I would call your name over and over again,
until you open your eyes and remember the dreams we had.

I would whisper sweet things to you,
that's exactly what I used to do.
I would make you feel beautiful,
do you remember how I used to prove it to you?

I would come back home with flowers in my hand,
God I woul...

Wicked Game

I lost
In the wicked game we played;
The distorted rules we make,
The empty words we say,
And the goodbyes in the end of May;

I lost
The lies of February's promise;
And the man I want to love.
Cruel honesty that got us in the beginning, and the only thing that's left for us in the end.

By June, a threat of winter's cold;
It wasn't even close to turn our hearts to stone
A teared ...

The Gate

By : Ali Taha Alnobani

Yesterday she invited me to see the moon in her garden
The wind tried to prevent me
Although I was sad, I walked under the rain
The gate was full of small doors and small cats were looking at me
Their shining eyes told me the tale of my baby
One night she was looking at the moon,
But a big cat with shining eyes got her dreams broken.

Broken Dreams

It was unexpected,
that morning when you left.
The sun shone strongly
through the pane,
my pain shattering the silence
of the emptiness you dropped me in,
bereft.

A morning moon still in
the sky would not let me rest
from the ignorance
of last night,
false bliss, false peace
as you slept and lied your love upon
my breast.
