I can't help but think of a young me standing in a corner of the disco summoning up the courage to go ask the dappled beauty under the mirrorball for a dance whilst all around her the older boys are sweating testosterone and vying for attention like the dancefloor is a rutting field. Great poem Chris. All the best, Col.

Jade you are reaching out by posting on this site, but that leads u very vulnerable. unfortunately victims are not always believed and even if they are resources are limited re police etc. Trauma can mean we can't always remember or relive exact detail. Please speak to someone, have you a friend or teacher you can confide in? Counselling is sometimes available, but Brian is right in reporting it to someone this man may be a threat to others xxxx much love

You have painted a marvellous picture here Keith. I think I had a reasonable relationship with my Dad, however I always felt it could have been better and wished I had known him better and asked more questions of him at the time. But retrospect is a wonderful thing.

This has nothing to do with the Royal Wedding tomorrow. More to do with a guest slot this past week where I presented poems based directly on my own family. And I finally commited this one to paper, just three days ago. But it 'fits' the week rather neatly, if not intentionally. So why not share it!

Hi David. Lovely to hear from you - yes: to compromise one's true nature is unbearable I agree, ending up with a sort of supermarket fruit display acceptable(awful word)to market expectations. Quentin was a peacock in his way, to be much admired in the raw. I give you my best for now!

Thanks Keith. I'm glad this had a personal resonance for you - you must know what it's like to suffer discrimination. People make up their minds on the basis of fear and loathing very often. We're all variations on a theme after all.

I'm off for a week's hols, so won't have internet. Keep well all you aspirants.

Love all round. Ray
