Ever Mine?

entry picture

I know…
I must give you away…
But…
Will you stay…?

I will give you away…
To any day sky…
To whatever wind…
Whatever cloud…
To every single child…
Drop of rain…
Or ray of light…
To every shade of white…
Grey, green, red…
Blue or black…
I will give you away…
To every blade of grass…
And every grain of sand…
To any pain or ache…
Smile…
Frown…
Or shout…
To every blow,
hit…
Or embrace…
I will give you away…
But…Please…
Please…
Will you stay?

I know…I must give you away…

Hello

as i read your poem here...
this one poem would sound nice in the airport on the inside
while the people are trying to find a spot...
the sound and the words go well!
thanks again.

Thank you Ray, I guess I never shook off the first poetry book I ever read, “Rimas y Leyendas” by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer...

I remember you at the Lightbox and Send Xoanxo. I was thinking you may be Italian, and I saw a romantic in gentle flow. Most refreshing. On live reading, one is easily disturbed by background jarring sounds, which doesn't affect strident readings so much. You have a delicacy and a reflective quality that is quite seductive. Aspects of this take me back to the Victorian romantic genre, Wordsworth, Byron and the like.

Thank you very much Martin!
@David, I wrote this as that inner debate between acceptance, resistance, acceptance, resistance...When faced with a sense of loss...

This is definitely the sort of poem that works well with you reading it together with the well suited background music.
Excellent Xoanxo
