It certainly does need nationalising, Laura.

Thanks Leon. It was very popular at the time, and as a kid being a musician I really wanted to get a zither; some chance. You are right ; the accordion and cimbalom other alternatives in that tradition.
Greg, Nice story. I was about six when the film came out. It really set the tone of the film so well.
Very kind Laura, thank you. I'm glad it appealed in such a complete sense. I could even has put "slither" in somehow, but that would have been over the top!
Thanks Stephen, well spotted!
Mark, in a nutshell you have it. Thank you.
Thanks everyone for the likes, Julie, Stephan A. Aviva, and Holden.

I know this isn't what you mean, but as an aside, I always find it uncomfortable when I can hear or feel the movement of my own heart beat, but it is always so magical to hear or feel someone else's heart beat.

Thank you Moon.girl and Stephen for your comments
Moon.girl, it is a situation that keeps recurring and a poem with many sequels
Stephen, so it seems, we never can know (either before or after) as we can never correctly guess the outcome of any path, nor find out the outcome of any path we don't take.
Thanks also to everyone who has clicked 'Like' for this poem

I like to go out
Enjoying nature
And world vastly
The beaches and sand
The Desert and dunes
Oceans deep blue
Skies a purple hew
Morning sunrise
Evenings dusk time
Night lit up
With starry eyes
The angelic moon
With a perfect beam
I love going out
Only if I've a partner bright
To experience what I may
Making a journey of memories
For me and us
From earth to heavens above
The yin.yang poetry......I liked your poem so much....it inspired me to share my views?

Contentment - probably the most undervalued and important word

Probably the most famous instrumentalist of his time, his music
captured in a haunting theme that accompanied a famous film into
cinematic and musical history. Instantly recognisable to those of
a certain generation and most real film fans.

Right on! As my own late brother remarked not long before his passing: life is for living. How right he was - and is! Let us welcome each day as a gift, a free pass to whatever we can make of it. We
can take so much for granted but life shouldn't be treated that way.
It is - good and bad - something we are "gifted", so let's rejoice and
make the best of it within our ability to do so.

Beautifully forcefully and directly put as always Keith. I think this poem may resonate with many people in many different ways regardless of their own identity. I particularly like the whole notion of that which is put upon us by others.
Thanks for posting this.

Thank you, Tim. The poor bloke waddling across the West Ham pitch in late December sleet did seem to sum up the pointlessness of it all. (Come to think of it, West Ham were often pointless!)

Magic moments disguised as normal behaviour like this can reveal so much Martin. There is a sort of verbal juggling in a gentle way without commitment. Nicely observed.

Thanks, Ray. Yes, there was a lot of streaking, some more successful than others. I remember one poor bloke at a cricket match who fell over and didn't even get onto the field before he was apprehended.
Thanks to everyone else for the likes.

An intriguing social commentary on left field indulgences. It seemed to happen at that time, perhaps as a backlash against accepted norms. I was at a gig once where a musician did the same thing - firmly down to drink of course. Nice revisit Stephen.

This bought me sharply up to consider what is the "real world," is it nature or the control of it Julie. Often there is no beauty in functionality sadly. It reminds me of a gig I did in a carpet warehouse, no atmosphere.

In my job, when I worked, I visited many places all over the country but often never actually saw any of the town or city centres. Instead it was depots or offices on trading estates. As you say Julie, bland and grey.
