Hazel, I happened to stumble upon your profile. Call it serendipity. The universe moves in mysterious way I guess, all we have to do is be receptive.

I'd like to know more about your Mindfulness practice.
Then I would like to share my beliefs on it.

I am out on a limb though from others who bemoan the influx of High Street charity shops. I love 'em.

Fine and `oakenly` nostalgiac with it`s `engrained` `steeped` `seeped` and `etched`engrossing us into the memories of this particular place.

I like the congruence of that `soft stainglassed light` with the rest of the scene.

Ray,
I think that the next four lines after `ray` would perhaps make a good stanza (of how the earth was) sort
of balancing the next five line stanza (of how it is)

The last five are a good example of the `indifference` which so aptly often finishes this kind of poem.

well executed.

I'm playing catch-up with your offerings Ray and this is simply wonderful although I feel you maybe lose your rhythm a little in the last 4 lines? I want to add another 'plastic' before clouds or maybe lose a line but I'm resisting the urge to offer further suggestions other than this:

sometimes I think we are on the same spaceship Ray. I love this and it makes me want to grab my old tattered Ray Bradbury's and get lost in other dimensions.

Sc-fi is a great lure away from the normality of our mundane day to days although I can't profess to be an ardent reader of the genre.

All the best fellow Earthling.

I agree with Colin..this piece is very welcome. I really like the intermixture of the two languages and it sparked me to do a little research on some of the terms you use. The ideas presented, for me, dovetail into some things I've been reading about the interplay of disparate economic forces in South America. It's a heavy subject that has enormous implications of which, I realize, I've only begun to scratch the surface.

Well written and thought-provoking...

Give up the palliative grease and take up losing weight for what is probably two bits of you rubbing together that according to the original design should be slightly apart.

Just to say thanks for liking World of Plastic AM. A beacon of interest is always nice in a sea of indifference. I just read your sample poem, and would like to say I admire the feistiness and resilience of soul that it expresses. Some clever lines, a sort of rally cry. Go for it!!

Thanks Jeff, such an encouraging comment, I'm so pleased you liked this. Strange word 'lacuna', I first read it in Daniel Goleman's book 'Emotional Intelligence' where he used it to describe people not being able to see things as they really are - a sort of blindspot. It just seemed appropriate for this piece. Thanks again. Paul.
