On the line

Darkness shrouds the train

Blue flashes flicker in the rain

Alone with strangers left to hide

As a man lies down on the line

Time stands still when death enters

The breath becomes hard to centre

My luck at catching the last train

Becomes silence in the rain

Everyone is on the line

Phones in hand, not the time

Words turn inwards

Soiled and sinful

GRAVEYARD TIM

Once again at cathedral water

Myself, a red balloon, my friend and her daughter

From nowhere it seemed a pug dog named petal

Drank from the pool natural man made tap nettle

Not far behind was a man with a cap on

He spoke of dead rats near the step we were sat on

He pondered on reasons and spiritual meaning

Birth charts,statistics totem rat readings

old church ullet ...

Desperate Times Two

We met through a personal ad

Two desperadoes with sad eyes

Putting our pride in our pockets

Pained from others goodbyes

Desperation is a cruel master

Standards plummet to the floor

You tolerate the unacceptable

What you wanted is no more

Half-hearted, we fixed a date

Half a loaf is better than none

I wasn't keen on her manners

Normally she'd want me gone

Sweet Pleasantries

A honk and a wave,

a smile greets you

not able to place the face

but you comply

exchange greetings

then she questions your well-being

Scrolling through the latest developments

you pick an appropriate response,

‘I’m hanging in there. Happy Thanksgiving.’

She returns with the same,

then disappears into the sea of lights

She is too kind

this is not the ...

This Too Shall Pass

He looks to me

but he doesn't see me

He talks to me

but he doesn't hear me

He's in front of me

but we're a million miles apart

Our hearts are beating to a different tune

Everyone thinks it'll be fine soon

Just open up and tell him

It'll be okay,

This too shall pass

but it won't,

it will last and last...

Exposed

Bandages ripped off

feeling raw

feeling exposed

not sure where this goes

You know too much

can’t hide it anymore

you want more than to touch

the deepest parts of me

I’m falling deeper into you

where do we go

what do we do

when I just want to be close to you

Get Lost in the Pouring Rain

So feeble

we fumble

bodies tangling, intertwining

we get lost in the moment,

in the rush

drifting off to our own space

No time like the present

we’re looking for answers in the pouring rain

If you could get by

for one night

without looking for the answers

If you could

for one night

love me just the same

Everybody needs something

to j...

Decisions! Decisions!

If I meet a stranger in the way and he asked me for my name,

Should I tell him with a sad sad smile that we are all the same?

When a ravenous roaring lion comes hurtling down the street,

Should I stand my ground a trembling and sweep him off his furry feet?

If our pearls of wisdom scatter, strewn askew on stony ground,

Should we weep and wail, O woe is me!, or act like are fool...

Strangers

Blank eyes,
Gazing skies,
Saw your skin,
Full of lies,
Touched your hands,
Saw Wrinkled lines,
No family,
Few Broken ties,
Casual traveler,
Finding life,
Two strangers ,
Such A cold night,
Sipping wine,
Dim sunshine,
A girl I met,
By riverside,
Beauty as if,
Shining moonlight,
Felt like I know her,
From some other life,
I think she was Running away ,
Just Like me,
Drinking aw...

Strangers Leave Scars

We were strangers by the pool
there was summer on your skin
I lay low, opened my whole body
in the hope that you would find me

Then taking it the distance
from the shore raised to the sky
there were many sailors scheming
on the bending of your knee

There’s a bridge in your dreams
as it recedes behind a fog
you wonder what it means...

Even naked your body was a silk gown
as you sc...

One people

I will not fight, I will not stand

For border, nor for any land

I need not know, am not concerned

Your place of birth or language learned

Too many wars are fought, too many die

Over province, pride, triumphal lie

I will not guard, I will not bar

The stranger landed from afar

They need a home, and wish to settle

Want to work, to show their metal

We can only profit...

Three weeks with you.

Day one
you came to my work.
You asked me if I wanted to date you.
Of-course my answer was yes.
You smiled and then asked me
if I'd like to go to the movies.
So, after we work went
and it was our very first date.

Two days, six days,
then eighteen days went by.
Within those eighteen days
we've texted, hanged out,
and with everyday I've fallen
for you more and more.

A few more days...
