She’d always walk up and start talking

of a conversation. At first, I’d ask her
what the Hell she was talking about,
but I soon learned her explanations
were too long and circuitous to be of
any value. Best to just wait it out,
and eventually the picture would
come into focus. You’d suddenly
get it—like a Faulkner novel,
and then you’d start thinking ...

Dividing the corners (a prose poem - stream of consciousness type of thing) 97'
DIVIDING CORNERS
Five to nine and a horrible reality. Even the carpet thinks so (after yet another coffee mug spills with the ashtray), and probably the band that's jamming away in stereo, thinking smugly, that they're tomorrow's Beatles, selling out arenas to tomorrow's people.
Still it all seems quite reputable compared to the silver cutlery in the drawer next to the microwave, unpoli...

On the Nature of Inspiration II
Prostrate, brooding on sunny and foreboding afternoon
A dog barks in the middle distance instigating a volley of indignant retort above the estate
Road-noise and the blood coursing through the channels
Blue sky touching horizon beneath casual cumulus reminds you of the sea
Emptiness and adventure
Cirrus slowly passes opposite antennae of opposite roof suggesting uniformity
Trees sway
