A Grave Mistake!
A Grave Mistake!
Â
Alf and Elsie - such a pair. Inseparable, throughout.
A paragon of âlove and careâ (no shadow of a doubt).
Downât pit until retirement, Alf was âYorkshire, born and bredâ.
Which met his wifeâs requirement (strong int thâarm and thick int thâead!)
Â
But, after sixty years of bliss, came by âthat dreadful dayâ
when Alfie, with a tender kiss, sent Elsie âon ...

A 'Brush' with Art !
A 'Brush' with Art ! Â
Â
Â
I think I'll take up painting.
Could it really be that tough?
To swish a brush across the canvas
....spreading âoil-based stuffâ.
Â
Lots of people do it
and make money on the side.
But the trick to this is selling them
to folk  (..... before youâve died!)
Â
Da Vinci and his âMastersâ
could have flogged a few more âGreatsâ,
if ...

'Sign' of the Times (Reflections on 'Rude'!)
Â
Apologies, in advance, for the rude words !
Â
Folk who pee in public places (treating them as âloosâ).
âConcert-girlsâ, on partnersâ shoulders, blocking othersâ views.
Kids that kick your airplane seat whilst parents just ignore.
Gits who queue-jump at the bar -âthough you were there before.
Â
Those who walk straight past you, without thanks .... or smiles.... or nods.

âOld Heads on Young Shouldersâ!Â
Â
âYou canât put old heads on young shoulders!â, they say.Â
But I think that I may have âcome-upâ with a way,Â
involving some sawing - and stitching - and glueÂ
(and a bit of a âheads-upâ, in just what to do!). Â
Â
But, if I decided to give it a âbashâ,Â
that would leave a spare head and a body (to stash)!Â
Which seems such a waste of a woman or man.
So, now Iâve develop...

'Man-Sized' Issues !
So, now those âMan-Sizeâ tissues
are named âExtra-Largeâ instead.Â
Itâs another âsexistâ issueÂ
that is messing with me âead! Â
Â
It seems, the major problemÂ
is all centred around âManâ.Â
Folk find this word offensiveÂ
but Iâm âflummoxedâ if I can !
Â
Iâm fearing for the futureÂ
if this nonsense carries on.Â
âCos theyâll ban the âManâ from everything
 in fav...

A âSnitchâ, in Time !Â
Â
My motherâs mother, Granny Brown
was âmuchly-lovedâ (once) in our town.Â
The care she gave; her happy ways.Â
She cheered us, in her âember daysâ.Â
Â
She liked to knit, but not to sell. Â
Such quality, (oh, you could tell!).Â
Each item, thoroughly bespokeÂ
- for gifting to specific folk. Â
Â
âGran, thatâs great !â Iâd often shout. Â
âYou knit them, then you han...

Is "Statue"?
Â
I met this gorgeous woman for some âafternoon-delightâ.
When we ventured back to her place (well and truly âoutta-sightâ!).
We scurried up the stairs and very soon were âin flagranteâ.
My clothes were off as she approached, in just her bra and panties.
Â
We intertwined, to âmoan and grindâ, intent on pure âamourâ
But soon were interrupted by the thumping of a door.
My lov...

'Rhyme Crime'!
When, first I began on the âpoetryâ scene,
my brain wasnât ready. Letâs say âa bit âgreenââ?
A âbull-at-a-gateâ (if you know what I mean)
and ended up racing - a little too keen !
Â
Thereâs a challenging issue in having Verse, rhyme.
Writing âcoupletsâ that match, yet make sense every time.
Which, sometimes presents a âhuge mountain to climbâ
(if you seek to avoid the âmund...

Size Matters!
Size Matters!
Â
Jack and Jill were getting wed.
(Jackâs dad thought, Jill was nice).
âBut, let me give you, Son,â he said
âsome fatherly advice.
Â
On the day, I wed yer mam
I nipped âer straight indoors.
And, being ât sort of bloke I am
I soon laid down the laws.
Â
I boldly took mi trousers off
and told âer, âput âem on.â
She drowned within a sea of cloth

A 'Valued' Friend!
A 'Valued' Friend!
Â
Frank, tonight, is working late.
The doorbell rings; itâs Frankieâs mate.
âLiz, you need to knowâ, smiles Ken.
âFrank wonât be home âtil half-past ten.
Â
I said, Iâd drop in, as I pass,
to tell you of his news, alas.â
âItâs nice of you to think of me.â
Beams Lizzy, âWould you like some tea?â
Â
And so they share a brew and chat;
some thoug...

The Trouble With Nuts!
The Trouble With Nuts!
Â
The trouble with nuts is, theyâre very elusive.
But, donât take my word as completely conclusive.
Itâs just that, it seems, though, whenever they're freed
they scatter and hide - which is not what you need!
Â
Consider the case of a doctor, I knew.
Took his car for a spin ( and to âposeâ in it, too).
A well-mannered man - but you wouldnât think th...
