A Quiet Strength
When tempers flare and voices rise,
It’s wise to breathe, not moralise.
A quiet word can cool the flame,
While shouting only spreads the blame.
When someone mocks or plays unfair,
Step back – don’t answer with a stare.
For digging traps for someone’s fall
Might lead you to your own downfall.
If rumours swirl and trust is thin,
Let honesty speak from within.
Your name is worth more th...

The Three Wishes
An old man, burdened by life's hardships, sits alone on a park bench, lost in sorrow. A stranger, offering three wishes, appears before him, promising a chance at happiness. But what begins as a fleeting opportunity soon turns into a journey of regret, as the man’s impulsive wishes lead him to face the true cost of his desires. Based on Erich Kästner's fairy tale, this thought-provoking tale explo...

Take a loss as a lesson learned
[ ] Never take a loss in your life, but a lesson learned.
[ ] Respect, like money is usually not given, but earned.
[ ] Don't always stand on what you believe, but what you know hard & firm.
[ ] To believe is not facts, but opinions that can be gaslighted, twisted, & turned.
[ ] Freeze the negative and let the positive burn.
[ ] Pray for guidance, understanding, & the sp...

Observe
On the old oak tree
Sits a mother with her child
Giving her some lessons
carried from generations!
Her voice so hoarse and quiet
like the black night sky,
"Listen well dear!"
The mother sighed
"Silence is the wisest thing,
Its with you when no one else is,
silence itself is an answer,
to all those fools, who roam around!
Keep quiet, and you'll see,
the light in miracles!
The less you...

Lessons
Learning won't stop
After uni, college or school
You may reach the top
Yet still feel a fool
For each day
Brings new teachers
In many a disguise
Though sadness
Will feature
In the end
You'll be wise
We're all learning
Lessons
Just not in a class
We find out
The best things
From our days
As they pass

Abandoned
Feeling down
because my muse
abandoned me again.
Maybe to teach me
another lesson
about leaning on him,
instead of mining inspiration
from deep within.
Seeking satisfaction
outside ourselves
is perhaps the greatest sin.
It is a game no one wins.
So, back to the blank page I go.
Just me and my pen.

Shepherds
When I was 7 years old, I went with my mother to visit her friend. I heard a dog bark when we knocked on the door. I love doggies! "Where's your doggie?" I asked. "I put him out back. He's an old police dog and isn't used to kids."
"Stay away from him," my mother warned.
Despite her warning, I went in search of the doggie and found him chained to a stake in the ground, head down, dark eyes...
