Good heavens! You've put your computer-dabble time to productive use here
I have also been productively-dabbling.
'Polyadic'

Useless word
I ever saw
Had to Google
What it meant
Useless word
We been sent
Down from Greeks no doubt...
Me no agelast
Me ha ha
May be aged but
Fun no bar
Waiting for
other's words
Ones that I have
Never heard......

Martin,
Thank you indeed for all your comments on my recent batch of poems. I value greatly all you have to say, more than you will ever know.
With gratitude

Liked this one yet again - like the sound and combination of the words. Fractal is quite new to me, (had to look it up). It's about the end of the world as we knew it, I think? A lot of original and beautiful language, needs to be read several times.

Great poem Jason, don't see how I missed it. Very encouraging in these Covid times. Here in Tuscany things aren't too bad at the moment, but everything has shut down, and in the north it's really grim. Hope is desperately needed. I too would say slopes for a cliff, as usually they are many faceted, not just one slope.
Keep up the good work. Jennifer

AGELAST
Definition: a person who never laughs
The humorless agelast comes from the Greek word agélastos (“not laughing, grave, gloomy"), and not, as one might suppose, from the fact that spending any time around such a person feels like it lasts an age. Agélastos in turn comes gelân (“to laugh”), the same word that gives us gelastic ("arousing or provoking laughter").
Add to these a gift of irony—that confounder of the literalists and Agelasts—perfect self-possession and an imperturbable sang-froid, impenetrability of expression and purpose and the equipment of the Dandy seems to be complete.

Hi MC, can't say I am familiar with this work but thanks for the intro. I am more aware of the Stanley Holloway monologues and especially Oh Dear I do feel Queer. There is a line in that still has me howling with mirth, 'How old are you now, aye 50 that's true - well your father died then and your mother did too.' Thanks for the opportunity to reminisce and reinvoke a ready smile. P. ?

You need to be of a certain age, Jennifer, to remember the joys of Izal.
Failing Izal, MC, I would suggest a small dog.

Ah yes...I remember it well. The time spent on the seat could be
seen as the domestic equivalent of "the bum's rush" !!
It was promoted as "medicated" as I recall. But then we war babies
were of a rationed "grateful for what we could get" generation.

Don't get the increased need for loo paper, unless people are going to be sh..........ng them selves in panic? Newspaper (ouch!) is a possible alternative. Nice poem anyway. Another title could be Roll on.

Thank you Dorothy! Isn't that fun? I just love when a poem, story, video sends me on an adventure to learn more. I love both those movies (and just about any romantic movie, from Thornbirds to Letters to Juliet, but of course the goth/romance Wuthering Heights is my absolute favorite). I hope you get a chance to watch The King and I. It's a sweet treat!
