The replacement of words in each line aids the retention of information and imagery very well.
Nicely done here.?

As always thank you, Lisa.
I just added you to the Temple's group page, so feel free to post on there if you wish to, I added you admin so I believe you can post things too. I can edit if you wish, or leave it as is, but no biggie either way.
(P.S. I remember your old account that you had, I believe we interacted on that one as well.?)

Yes! I'm glad you put it to paper! (or screen rather) but I loved this.
It's 100% true and became my philosophy when I first began to write, because I hated being told a poem could only be a poem if structured from the rule book.
Cut, copy, paste, rinse, repeat.
At least AM knows what's real.?

A curious and wry offering Peter, with a sort of shabby genteel feel to it, a long way from your usual work, but I enjoyed it !

Your words are as deep as the ocean and as sad as a grieving mother.
Your tower will yet again become your castle. Pain does not last forever my friend.
I pray your confidence comes rushing back because you deserve everything that makes one self happy. ?

Although I loath the subject, I appreciate the satire, having also been inspired by the Middle-East debacle. Yes, huge echoes mingling with current themes.

Thanks for this, David.
Like '31, Garrett Street' in your book 'After Hours', the echoes of what has past speak strongly to what is now.
Congratulations on your well-deserved 'Poem of the Week' and on the continuing success of 'The High Window'.

Good piece Becky. I am a leaver, I've made no secret of that, a decision made from a little englander perspective. I do however appreciate how it might affect others. I'm starting to suspect however that it might never happen, or if it does it will be so soft we will hardly notice.

Tommy, the struggle comes over, but you make sense. The layers of thought commenting on thought are clear because of the brackets. A 'conscious' senility is not the same as 'deliberate' .
You have it in one Freda

"I tire of this conscious senility'... and so do we, sometimes, Tommy, so do we. And 'humour by disguise' is no humour at all if no one recognises it. You write by code for an elitist reader; if that is your aim, so be it.
But that is a terrible thought - to be in 'conscious senility'. Who with intelligence would deliberately induce senility? The reality of senility is heartbreaking, especially for those who witness it and can do nothing. The victim is powerless to care."
Cynthia my references to "conscious senility" is in regards to my recent brain haemorrhage. Not deliberate but dysfunctional brain operations. Tommy
