I began writing poetry regularly in mid-2017. Before that I taught philosophy at a community college in Houston, Texas. I enjoy performance poetry, classical poetry, contemporary poetry, experimental poetry, song lyrics, and most other forms of human expression.
The Risk of Metaphor It makes sense That the sun is often Described as a disc, Because it looks like a disc Hanging in the sky Or tossed like a Frisbee on a lazy summer day, But the fact that it isn’t a disc, Not even a flame-white one, Is instructive, Just as our love Is not a rose.
