I admire the piquancy of rhyming.bars with scarred. Makes me think of the scars left by 911 and how the NYC people set off for work on that September morning thinking they had time, plenty of time, to amend their lives.

yeah I do think so. The stories in the canonical gospels are all full of strife. The old testament called him 'the suffering servant'.

Thank you nicola. Sorry that you've been in the same situation. Keep your chin up. Leon thank you for the feedback. Life can be crap but I'm smiling. I'm no victim. Only way is up
ACE8.6 thank you so much. Means alot... Po thank you also for your feedback but I dont think I'm a misfit. I work hard. I support adults with learning disabilities. 2 kids who are happy and loved and a husband who loves me.. but I just happen to have had a few hurdles in life which I managed to finally jump. And while I jumped I wrote it down. My past made my future and my scars dont define me. X

Truer words have never been spoken. We are all made of dreams bound to dissolve someday. Any worldly house/home is nothing but a temporary abode.

JM - thanks for your comment. The starting point for any individual life in human history is agreed:dependent on circumstances beyond the'control of that individual, for good or otherwise. It has
been so through recorded human history, with the occasional instance of eminence being achieved through individual effort
within the system in existence. But is there anyone anywhere
who can define the word "equality" in any recognisable real sense?.
Of course, someone can say "I'm as good as you are" and no one
will think it unusual or unacceptable. But the word "equality" still]
defies definition in practical terms. These days it seems to be the default term for those challenging a society which they see as
not reflecting their own "look" or the lives they live to a degree
that is acceptable to them..

Big Country, I got to know Stauart he was a lovely, genuine down to earth guy and success didn't change him one bit. Unfortunately Staurt had a problem with drink and depression although it seemed under control he took his own life in 2001 aged just 43.

Before God, we are all equally wise, and equally foolish.
Albert Einstein
Anybody made of flesh and blood is equal to all others made of flesh and blood. That's the starting point. However, some people acquire advantages through genetics and inheritance and education. So, this has be compensated for. I suggest the state pays for the children of the poor to attend Eton, Harrow etc with all fees paid by taxpayers. That might move us a little way to equality.

Like the kid in the DreamWorks emblem, you pull off a clean switch in tone/diction. The lexis is almost archaic but not quite. You have to set the moments free. This reminds me a touch of Shelley. Lotta Continua Shifa.
