The repeated 'no more' conjours up how we feel at this dire time, and the tragedy of losing people we love without being able to se or comfort them. Great writing.

I’m not sure “great” is the right word, Po. It’s just a bit of tosh to counter the bleatings of “I-can’t-cope-with-this” moaning Minnies.
And Thankyou for the Likes Brian, Itsjustme and Branwell.

You describe a tregedy of Greek proportions in this sad poem. Well constructed.
This act happens the world over.
Why?
One shouldn't presume to know the reasons.

Brian, it feels so good to reach you with this one. Thank you!
Don, for Renee's sake, you'll be pleased to hear she's a figment of my imagination. The name (and title as a whole) just popped into my head on Monday night when I was out walking. I had absolutely no idea what it was going to be about until I put pen to paper - but I knew there was a poem buried beneath that title.
Jordyn, thank you so much ? Moving someone is the ultimate prize for a writer, in my opinion. I'm so pleased it worked for you.

Thanks Don. Its good to draw out other angles and you did pull the stops out !
Hi Jennifer. That's one way of looking at it, but it's more of a philosophical journey on my part, to be taken with a pinch of salt. Thanks a lot.
Glad you like it Hannah, thanks.
Through a glass darkly Mark - I was pleased to get much response on this.
Thanks so much for the likes Tom, Kevin, Michael, Stephen and Alive S.

Such a powerful account and really cleverly told as it is focusses on what people said about it the act, completely at sea which is the shocking thing . It begs the question how did things get this far? We don't always see into hearts and minds. The repeated first and last verses so effective.

Thanks Don, Michael, Philipos and Hannah for the comments, and Hannah, Brian and It's just me for the likes. Glad you found something in it. Parents killing their children is just something I will never understand, and I suppose they must be so distraught at the time that they don't either. This kind of tragedy happens every year, and each time no-one seems to have had any idea that the child or chldren were in any way at risk.
Thanks again, jennifer

Thanks to the kind folk who 'liked' this poem ?
Thank you Ray and Jennifer - I'm glad you picked up on the layout as that was the task within the prompt - to use an unfamiliar or difficult line spacing.
I thought it captured that real struggle we have with language when speech is taken away from one party. I'm really pleased you liked it - your comments meant a lot to me
Thanks
Ian

An inspiring read. Thank you and well done. I agree with all the comments.
The last line is lovely (even though I might have said "Warmed more by people than sunshine". That's not to criticise at all, i'm just always wondering how these things might or might not be done)

Wow, Simon this is great. It's not often I get to the end of a poem and have to go right back to the start and immediately read it through a second time. Just enough mystery and detail to make for a fascinating read. Brilliant.

Another side of coin
Animals all lost-like
Altogether join
Where are all your fingers?
Pulling us, cows moo
You've gone and done the dirty
Left us in the poo
Sheep and sheep-dogs in a tizz
Don't know what to do
Please come on back you humans
