A MAN LIKE ME

A man like me could have really been something,

standing out from the crowd,

but as I was pedalling the chain came off

so i'm posting on Write out Loud

to give my views on this and that

putting it into rhyme,

to add my mental footprint

on the slippery sands of time.

When one's chain comes off it's nice to know so many WOLers care.....

Thanks Brian for the curve ball.

Graham, just a flirtation, not really leaving myself much room for backing out! Thanks.

Thanks Don. Its good to draw out other angles and you did pull the stops out !

Hi Jennifer. That's one way of looking at it, but it's more of a philosophical journey on my part, to be taken with a pinch of salt. Thanks a lot.

Glad you like it Hannah, thanks.

Through a glass darkly Mark - I was pleased to get much response on this.

Thanks so much for the likes Tom, Kevin, Michael, Stephen and Alive S.

Provocative positioning destined to obtain a response.. That said....
Poetry can be - without being flip,
A platform for an ego trip.

Do I take it you're saying that posting on WOL is the a last resort for those who have never been anything, Ray? Liked this anyway!!!!

Don't worry Ray, your mental
Chain is still on, firm
There might be little surface rust
But least it still can turn

Your mental chain has done you proud
These verses? perfect rhyme
Await with interest, this and that
On screen, in rhyme, in time

Can I suggest looking at one of the sprockets? ...capital O for Out. Don't fret about it's inability to cursive 'Write'

Just keep it well oiled and you'll be fine.....

I think you’re doing yourself down here Ray.

You've hit the nail squarely on the head Ray i.e. bike riders are destined to be under-achievers.
