A remarkable and thought provoking poem. When people are convinced of the righteousness of an ideology they seem to be capable of almost anything, similarly so if a propaganda machine can cleverly manipulate people. This draws me to conclude and endorse the final lines of this poem, that in the right circumstances the common man can descend into the most base levels of barbarity.
Ein Reich, Ein Volk, Ein Fuehrer and those words can light the flame of evil

Seems I need a floozy
To blowjob me each day
Forget the fucking Vegemite
On my toast I say
Tolerance is a virtue
And 'e does rhyme well luv
Come on flooze please dooze me
let's cock/cunt intertwine
Orgasm for immunity
Let's party on, great time
Scientists say (via Google)
Cumming makes you 'mune
So let's cry out in Bacchic splendour
Yoweee yoweee tune
Sheesh Eth. I'm trying to be tolerant....
But he does rhyme well luv......
Wot's a blowjob Eth?....

A compelling account with much to commend it in terms of encapsulating the whole sordidly misguided episode . More horror than can be visualized or assimilated, but still we try to find answers. The common man has all the ingredients.

MC.,
Thank you for your remarks. The reason so many fail to seek help is either PTSD which affects many or breakdowns in family life. They are reluctant to seek help, often out of pride and sink into a morass of self pity and abandonment. Booze and Drugs soon search them out and addiction results which places them beyond help, or so they think. In my local town I have come across one such guy who seems to be in a permanent self induced haze. I have suggest several agencies especially designed to help ex service men but to no avail
Thanks for this

Po,
Thank you for this. I had no idea that you have an involvement in this ugly business. I have lived a sheltered life or perhaps when I was younger people seldom stabbed each other, except in the back. Ha Ha

My family has seen its members in the ranks of the army over the
past two centuries. I have seen service in a civilian capacity in my
own working life. Both have organisations that are intended and
prepared to offer help to its former members and their families.
So, something is going wrong somewhere if any are on the streets.

Don - vegemite. A poor substitute for the real thing.
Graham - Even if it doesn’t work, given the increased vulnerability of us old gits, it’s worth enjoying the pleasure before we shake a six,
Kevin - it’s my intention to offend as many as possible on Thurs.
Mika - It should be available on the NHS.

Hi Po,
Thank you.
I really appreciate your taking the time to respond to my efforts from the other side of the world. While it gives me a boost when I receive commentary such as yours, I never take any of it for granted (although I would keep going anyway if it didn't) - getting such a kick out of this wonderful literary form).

Well done, Sarah. Teachers should believe in their students when they don't even believe in themselves. Every child matters and can do miracles if circumstances are favourable for their growth and some of them need a push only. Beautiful poem!
