Interesting read, John. We have to hope for some real leadership from the next generations, even if we won't be there to see it.

I think poets should rank fairly high in the pecking order, certainly above bankers, although some of them may write poetry. What a fascinating world it is, as this poem suggests.

Yes, this is great and sends a critical message. It needs to reach the widest possible audience. I'll do my best in my very small way.

Stephen, a first rate poem with a message loud and clear. This should be put in the national press. It is clear and to the point with a poetic if not prophetic flavour.
Thank you for this

I don't think I have ever seen you cry and frankly I don't really want to, but you have every right to cry sometimes and don't ever hold it in. You can't be super Grandma, super wife, super mum all the time. We love you, April x

What a way to think about it, wow. I believe you are completely right, our ability to think/ imagine to the extent that we can create a physiological reaction (adrenaline and others) yet face no real harm; how else can you describe that ability besides simply artful. Love April x

Thank you Brian, Vautaw, Stephen A., JD., and Aviva for your likes and comments. They are much appreciated. I am sorry that I am responsible for plunging Brian into the depths of depression but outside our comfort zones there exists a stark reality which cannot be ignored. Perhaps, Brian you could write an Ode to Joy.

Thank you Mariyam, Philipos, and Brian for your comments.
Thanks also to those who have clicked 'Like' for this poem.
Mariyam you are correct one of the things I wanted this poem to be is a little bit cute, and I wanted to imply that I think that I am 'a poet'. I was a little bit teasing when I suggest that it could be the true centre of the universe although I do think it is an indispensable and irremovable part of it.
Philipos mathematics has been used for the understanding, building and shaping of many things but my sister's perspective was at least a few times as stated (with very little poetic license) and that goes beyond what I would agree with.
Brian, yes, it is a human characteristic to do that and as far as I am aware all poets are human (but that's just because I don't know any other animal languages so I can't say for sure whether they contain poetry or not). Just because most people can't even get pennies for their poetry doesn't mean their poems aren't precious and of great value (in non-monetary ways).

Thanks Graham. I suppose I wrote this in exasperation which most of us feel most of the time. It is well recorded and that reinforces the message - are we in a spiral ? Speed bonnie vaccine ....
Yes Tony I know what you mean - it's all a bit like a soft version of big brother (not the reality show). I do get attracted to rhyming on certain topics, I think it can emphasis points of dark humour. In a sense it is demanding and shouldn't be forced. It can be addictive, but there's the rub.
Thanks for liking this Tom, Kevin, Stephen and Aviva.

I think that Covid - 19 is a global marketing campaign - there is nothing happening in the world in terms of infectious disease that does not happen routinely and all the time. In that sense Covid - 19 is a hoax - but worse than that a Genocide. The global implementation of a sanitary dictatorship is made possible by the people - who would rather be a slave in a gas chamber than take responsibility for their own life.

Right, I've come to the conclusion that you have to be a poet before you're allowed to become a politician.. Let's start a petition ?
It could go without saying but I'm not going to let it go without saying, this is an amazing poem, and I feel lucky to have had a chance to read it.
