Aviva hi
The piece involves 3 individuals ( the window-cleaner) and there is an issue over finances. The violence preceded the visit of the window-cleaner.
Thank you

Emeka indeed, poverty and abuse sometimes go hand in hand.
Thanks

Thanks Stephen.
I have a separate piece done with the woman alone in the bedroom.
I'm still pondering.

I didn't see it as about poverty at all, but to me it read more like a domestic abuse situation where the working male is a window cleaner but has spent the money, maybe gambling or drinking, and hasn't given any finances to the stay at home woman who being met with violence if she asks for anything doesn't want to stay at home anymore, at least not this home. For me the fine detail is in the line 'He sat quietly' and how she plans silently too. Whether poverty had a background role to play isn't really apparent from the poem.

It is isn't just about poverty but what it has turned us into.

I enjoyed this, Tommy, although it's an uncomfortable subject. It says so much in such a short time. A real gem.

somehow it seems that you wanted us to take a glance towards the scheme of poverty faced by many of us.... ?
