The hand you see a'waving Ruth
Is fanning my poor bod
It seems to not be working well
Which does seem rather odd
blip...blip...
Janet thinks I'm waving at her.....

Janet (from some other planet) is my co-pilot friend in a hovering spaceship.

Women say that childbirth is incredibly painful, but then can't wait to have a second child. It can't be that painful surely? My logic is this...take blokes - we've all had a knock in the bollocks and know how it feels...do you ever hear a bloke say "I'd love another kick in the bollocks!"

My ‘as ever etc’ comment was clumsily put. It was meant as ‘as usual a very interesting and thought provoking piece’. Sorry for confusion.

As Head of Publicity for the Like-Minders Society my job is to publicize this new project of our Leader. We are a group of fun-seeking offbeat WOL poets (currently 15) who rollercoast around a Theme Park to various stops of poetical interest such as Writers Corners, Traditional Poets Association Stamping Ground, the essential Toilet Stop, our own Music Lounge and a Budding Poets Audition Site.
Should you like to join us contact our Leader Don at the LMS Office during business hours 9am-11pm UK time. No riff-raff or doomy gloomers please. We run a tight ship.

Thank you, Martin!
It shouldn't worry you, Graham. Please refer to my initial response on my previous poem (Outside of Herself). And yes, poems can develop many more meanings than the one the writer intended because every reader offers a new perspective. ?
Thanks for your comment, Po.

For me, the way you have structured this makes it a difficult read.
Once again I can read along several pathways without knowing if I'm on the right one.
The tags worry me too! As ever etc, etc.

I certainly do remember them . I also remember writing them as well. My grandmother once sent a letter to Australia in the 1930's and the flying boat as they were known then (an aircraft that could land on water) sunk but her letter was retrieved and sent back to her. Unsurprisingly the ink had run a bit. It was one of those that you folded in on itself.
Nice one Cynthia

Lucy L (our Like-Minders Society Head of Publicity) is reprimanding me. She says why did you assume Joe was in UK? Hmmm I said. to which she replied he could've been in
'Today, the scale is primarily used in the United States, and is also used in the Cayman Islands, Palau, Bahamas and Belize'
Take your pick she said. So I picked you a relaxed poet having a fun time in sunny Bahamas (and all that).
Spot on, Thalia my Muse of Mirth said.
Hey, where's Ruth gone? Am I too hot to handle girl?
?
How did you know this I said?
We have ways the girls said.....
I was quite miffed as you haven't put up an audio so how was I to know? You got special communication channels with my girls?
Po, is there some sort of intra-planetary out-of-body thing going on here?
Hey, where's Ruth gone? Am I too hot to handle girl?

Quite profound Jason comparing oneself to others leads to feelings of superiority or inadequacy. Better to be in competition with yourself...bit like golf really.

I find the position of the SNP curious indeed. It seems that any part of the UK can use the word "Nationalist" in connection with politics
EXCEPT the English!

Don you have that special jar of poetry writing pixie dust we're all after. Janet keeps it safe and well hidden on the space ship.
Nigel I said 'Hello' to you in your dreams last night ....unfortunately I then zapped you with my special pen and now you don't remember!
Thank you Po I always enjoy your well informed comments. I have a Diploma in Dream Therapy, and during that course there was lectures on this theory that we die every night.
I'd also like think that a part of all us writers of poetry and thoughts are connected by a silver thread of consciousness... and I'm quite sure that we are!

Brian, MC, and Po - Many thanks for your thoughts, fellas.
My own political standpoint was complicated. I feel closest to the Lib Dem’s (SNP if I lived in Scotland) but voted Labour. A tactical vote to try to oust the local Conservative MP.
