John,
How I enjoyed reading this poem as I have always been interested in the passage of time and its effects on the world about us and ourselves included. The human eyes are telling in so many ways. They portray emotions, personality and a glimpse into the inner person but it is through age that we see another developing feature. The elderly often display liquidity of eye which shows resignation, weariness and wisdom. The eyes seem to experience a different process of ageing. After all they have witnessed more than the body has experienced.
Thank you for this
Keith

Thank you Stephen, Leon, and Nigel for your comments
Leon the poem would suit a caring foster home too, or a shelter, but in this case it was a hospital ward (details noted at base of previous poem 'Naomi and I')
Nigel I am particularly good at remembering where things happen, such a conversation was in the hallway..., such a person was sat on the sofa when they said...., this is the bus stop where I thought up that song/dance/game etc.. sometimes it can be refreshing to be somewhere that there aren't memories already floating about, but other times it is really nice to recollect some things so clearly.

Thank you for commenting Nigel.
We go into depression through our weaknesses, but we come out of it through our strengths (whether re-found or new-found)

Although I won't post it in love's tempest, since it was already posted in the meditations, the poem 'Inner Strength' was actually written during this time.

I'm glad you think it fits those genres Aviva. Certainly would be interesting to hear it in that style.

I did try to make it rhyme as much as possible, so I'm glad it turned out seemingly made for rap.
I unfortunately do not know who Phillipos is. These poems are my very first foray into this field, so I'm not really familiar with much.
Thanks for the kind words, gives me that extra little push to write more

A natural encounter which is defined by it masculinity and casual approach. The ability to relate to another human being without being judgemental. A gesture of friendship at no cost. Now this is poetry as it speaks of harmony
Thank you for this

There are so many great lines here that I cannot pick one out above the rest. Your words are definitely Dali like in their interpretation
can't beat surrealism
Love it

Thank you Nigel for your poetic response.
Being believed in
Helps us believe in ourselves,
But even if the whole world
Acts with doubts and disbelief
And mistaken mistrust
We should doubt the rest of the world
Because we are closest to our own truth
And even we don't know everything that we can do.

Dear Nigel, thanks for your poem! I was just speaking with a patient the other day who had a mysterious shadow turn up on his lung scan in which he is waiting for the biopsy for the results. the waiting game sure is hard. Thank you for articulating this so nicely in your words. Best wishes, Rasa

I'd love a jukebox too, but not only can't I afford one, but I don't have room for one either. Maybe one day if I win the lottery.
Keith I'm glad you explained yourself before the image of you in drag fully formed. I can remember being obsessed with Tocatta by Sky and playing it ad-nauseam on the jukebox . I don't even like that tune now.
I assume that some pubs do still have jukeboxes, but the one I mostly use prides itself on not having one.
Thanks also for those who pressed like.
Cheers Kevin

These casual conversations often occur outside shops, while both parties are waiting for their respective wives.
They're a fundamental part of our blokiness and can brighten up the day.
This well observed piece brings life to those snippets.
Cheers Kevin
