KICKING AND SCREAMING

entry picture

Apologies to The Ivy League

“I’m being dragged from here

Kicking and screaming

I can hear the jeers

Of those who’ve been scheming;

It took a crowbar to get me out”

How the greasy piglet would shout!

Huffing and squealing

He’s kicking and screaming.

“I just blame the herd

(Oh, how I fought ‘em)

Sod those lousy turds

I’ll hang on till Autumn

They’ll need to prise my nails from the door

But I’ll be back to even the score”

Kicking and screaming

He’s kicking and screaming.

Something along the lines of
“A bucket of vindaloo
With Angela Rayner too”
eh, Graham.
I’m not suggesting Churchill was perfect, Greg, (no politician who gets their hands on reality is) but that there was far more to him than his student.

Churchill also famously likened the Labour party - the same party that founded the NHS - to the Gestapo during the 1945 election campaign. Just saying.

Best to start sharpening your scalpel for the next Tory JC. Plenty of material no doubt! Nothing about Sir Starmer getting off his beer and curry wrap yet though?? And I thought you were an egalitarian!

Thankyou, Stephen. I did think twice about calling Johnson a “greasy piglet” which I thought was a little offensive to piglets.

Excellent and well performed, John. I did hear some commentators quite seriously discussing the option of him being physically hauled out of No 10 (presumably with spouse and dog in tow). Given that his pal Trump effectively tried to initiaite a coup last year, anything now seems possible,

They should make him "Special Envoy to the Ukraine". That
might wipe the smirk from Putin's ugly mug.

Thankyou, Graham, MC and Martin. And Frederick for the Like.
You may all know that Boris’s hero was Churchill, whose biography he wrote. WC famously had his hat, his cigar and his V sign. BJ took from this the unkempt hair, the shabby suit and the bumbling manner - all affectations to endear him to the public. What he didn’t take was the “substance” Churchill had, only superficial shallowness.
When Labour won the 1945 General Election WC’s wife said to him “How could they do this to you? You won them the war”. He replied “That is what we were fighting for”.
Spot the difference.

It's a shame the nothing man "Sir Starmer" didn't get found guilty of his boozy indiscretions too. It would have been a good clean sweep on both sides.

Difficult to see a decent replacement for Boris though. Time the Socialists had another go, to spend all the money! and then disappear again for a decade!

Doesn't anyone recall the critical assessment of his former boss
(was it Sir Max Hastings?) whose opinion of Bojo basically
pre-empted his recent behaviour? We can't say we weren't
warned.

What a great poem John. Where on earth did you get that picture from? he looks like the very clown that he is.

Thankyou, Keith and MC. His legacy will certainly not include shame among his several character flaws.

The Tories have a reputation for this sort of thing when they
fear for the worst in electoral terms. The departure of Thatcher
was a prime example. But at least Bojo's reported lies didn't cost
lives by the thousand as happened in another time and another
conflict. Now I have the feeling that we'll be getting a book from this former "journo" - to even up a few scores!

John,
Boris is no different to those who in a rush of indecent haste sent in their letters of recognition within 24 hours. Had they not harboured these feelings for some time? If they had where is their integrity? Why wait for the stampede? The problem with most politicians is that they are opportunists bereft of integrity and not worthy of our support or votes. Boris used the term herd. Well he led a herd who decided to abandon him as the cliff edge came closer.
Good poem
Thanks
Keith
