Early evening in Gumusluk 
a golden glow lights up the sky
The sun prepares to bid farewell
as another day passes by 

The shore is lined with eateries 
bars, restaurants and small cafes
Serving gastronomic delights 
catch of the day and Turkish mezes

Folk dine on private jetties
or whilst paddling in the sea
Some enjoy a cocktail or two
or just a Turkish cup of tea

Chit chat and laughter fills the air
above the cool background playlists 
From tables of two to twenty two 
a mix of locals and tourists 

Glistening jewelled gourd lanterns 
sway softly in the evening breeze
A kaleidoscope of colour 
hanging from white washed twig like trees

The sea becomes a canvas 
inky black with luminescent glow
Colours dance on the ripples 
creating the most dazzling show 

A narrow road leads out of town 
where charming stalls are lit up bright
They sell homemade crafts and artworks 
and make for such a pretty sight 

Now late evening in Gumusluk 
colourful hues light up the sky
The crescent moon shines high above 
another day has passed us by
