Believe in yourself Wardah, you will see brilliant light break through the gloom of darkness because you deserve it.
Agony will turn to ecstasy. Be patient. This is the period of transition.

Dan, It was only yesterday that I came across your profile and was able to read several of your poems, not to mention your profile. As a gay man myself your ability to craft poetry is truly excellent, the rhyming is so good. You are indeed accomplished in being able to express yourself through this genre. I would love to read more of your work so please continue to write. With every good wish. Keith
PS Stanza 7 hits the nail on the head. I can well relate to this.

I agree with David. Ray Winstone is always playing himself. Just like John Wayne.
Nice one Ray

Thanks for the likes Patricia and Desmond, really appreciated.
David, a master stroke of utter irony. That will definitely be on the agenda mate. A poem like a slave can serve several masters by the way.

That is true patience and care but as long as it's reciprocated. One cannot keep giving an ocean of affection in exchange for mere glasses in return.

Thanks you Victoria - one word like that is plenty!
David, I've gone all Eastwood. He could ride out disappointment in fact could use it for a purpose; my writing this was a catharsis and worked a treat. I re read my offerings mentioned and did found them a bit contrived so fair dos I reckon. By the way , I don't do requests.
Thanks.
Laura, I take that as read. Thanks !

There is a natural sympathy with what's not immediately apparent David at play, and a brooding intelligence of the unseen. Scrabbling polities I like a lot and the two last couplets add a dimension of what nature will do with potential.
A great read, thanks. Ray

Dreams are very strange, we have no control over them and yet we do . . . don't we?

Hey - well done all you lovely WOLers!! Putting poetry out there in the world and removing it from the sphere of the elite is something very dear to my heart. And to my mind, music and poetry go hand in glove. Nice one ?

Attila the Stockbroker has made a good living from poetry - no workshops involved. I'd recommend any poet to read his autobiography, which I reviewed for WOL:

for tips on how to do it. It's also a hugely interesting read besides that.
It's serious graft, but it can be done.

Oh I like this. Proper resonates with me. I've always been painfully aware of the now, it pounds into you without mercy should you ever take your eye off the ball.
There's a lovely flow of sonics in the first three verses.
