Through curiosity generated by some readings of others' writing here on WoL, I've recently done a bit research on these forms you mention. I've always been a big fan of keeping things short and sweet in my personal work, so the tanka and gogyoshi may be more of a go-to for my future posts.
..glad to have your comment, Steve.

..glad you liked the Gary Clark bit, too--that's my fight song D

Keep writing. Get it out. It took me years of writing including three anthologies to work through the trauma of child abuse. Eventually, if you keep writing and do the healing work, you realize you are worthy of love and you are your own best friend. If you can bare it, every time you pass a mirror, say, I love you unconditionally. I learned that from Louise Hay. Thank you for sharing your raw and real truth. You never know who else it will inspire to work through their pain. ❤

and then they scream and shout.

Discovering Something from Somewhere
Don't start writing anything
tiding up is about to start
Somewhere is something forgotten
crammed full of unfinished poetry
Open up that space
the good, the bad and the terrible
Select the reasonable readable
discover something from somewhere.
The theme for Monday's meeting is Tiding up the house
