These “have not” flats look cheap and nasty

The “haves” would like them, to look more snazzy

The Council beautify them, by simply adding

Some aesthetically pleasing, dirt cheap cladding

Some cheap Charlie puts the finance up

Some cheap shot drafts the plans up

Installed on the cheap, by some cheap skate

Now the “haves” down the road have been heard to state

That these “have not” flats whilst not pretty, look nice

 Protecting the “have” equity, cheap at twice the price

But sadly, the mentality of cheap and cheerful

Has left the “have nots” feeling cheap and tearful

Bereft for the seventy-two souls that were lost

Bean counters don't calculate human cost

They work in pounds and pence and life is cheap

When you live at the bottom of the “have/have not” heap

Accountability eclipsed, bare faced lies issue from lips

Politicians, talk is cheap ... it’s as cheap as chips
