Well, to give a direct answer, John, would be to imply that you don't understand the possibilities behind the usage of the pronouns.

And, to know that you ponder at all, David, is a privilege. The thing about pondering is that it doesn't require the satisfaction of knowing if it is right or wrong--it is a sort of joy in itself.

Thanks, all, for reading and responding, by whatever means of choice.

Have a good day,

Rachel

I have pondered and pondered this Rachel...so sorry for the absence of comment prior to now.

This could be individually personal or it could be about States. My Country is currently dying the death of a thousand cuts, ironically it is strangling itself with democracy. Other states such as the one you currently reside in are dying by other means.

Just what places are growing healthily and for the good of their people? they certainly are not the ones with large economies.

Anyway, forgive me..I felt the need to at least attempt a comment.

David.

Thanks for your support, Martin--reader's response does make communication a bit less pointless.

Through curiosity generated by some readings of others' writing here on WoL, I've recently done a bit research on these forms you mention. I've always been a big fan of keeping things short and sweet in my personal work, so the tanka and gogyoshi may be more of a go-to for my future posts.

..glad to have your comment, Steve.

ps
..glad you liked the Gary Clark bit, too--that's my fight song D

..great blues with lots of grit--exactly how we need to be sometimes just to get through with a little dignity.
