Reminisce (Remove filter)
To old, too young
One by one, it seems
Our joy from childhood dreams
quickly falls away.
Until the day
None of those dreams remain.
The red balloons
We let loose to fly
Those floating memories of our youth
Passing by, high in the sky
Our childhood days
Sometimes, misguided ways
They made us cry.
The laughter we had then
Beyond recapture
We will never live aga...

A Ghost Of Christmas Past
Granda's slouched
In his fave comfy chair
A Christmas cracker party hat
Hides his four strands of hair
His wife always said:
'Get the buggers cut!'
But he wasn't quite ready
To be a total baldy nut!

Nagging at full pelt:
'If ye eat or drink one more thing,

And Sophie's eyes sparkle

Pinning Hearts
You are what I wanted so much but couldn’t have
What I had to let go of no matter how scared I felt about losing

or lay it out, spread on by you
or anyway that translates bliss
to blissless stormful blanks
that look for it parched, helpless
without thanks

Let me know how you feel.
My heart skips a beat,
Before it begins a rhythmic dance,
As I gaze into your eyes,
Into your soul,
With so much love it aches.
I am home whenever I am with ...

Lilacs
Between the last customer
and morning light
in the parking lot of the Korean Gentleman's Club,
he picks lilacs for me.
Standing high against a warehouse wall,
these always bloom early, and
he goes annually, covertly, in the still dark,
unsure of welcome by the
Korean Gentlemen.
He fills the car.
I imagine that damp, spring-scented ride home,
his fantasy of be...
