Stimulating stuff. But also unsettling as no doubt intended,
Yet doing what poetry can do so well. Make us think!

Nicely set out, John, the way national opinions break down. You pick and choose, whether you're woke or anti-woke, I guess. Does that make things clearer? I thought not.

MC, in the great scheme of things Covid had bugger all to do with the demise of the NHS.
in 2005, the Tories with Jeremy Hunt wrote a policy document "Direct Democracy: An Agenda For A New Model Party," stating their intention to, and the means whereby they would destroy the NHS.
In 2019, the UK Doctor's Association wrote to the Tory government stating that the NHS was: "...on its knees ".

Graham, I agree with you there -must do better!
MC. my immediate concern is with the corrupt politicians of today who have a word in the “shell-like” of the Murdochian sewer in order to to spread lies and hate as a means of dividing and ruling us.

Truly, the imagination is our escape from many hardships in
life. It is a gift about which we have little understanding except
the knowledge that it is within us and serves a purpose - for
good or ill. It should be used wisely and well if it is to be
an enabler of a better life for its possessors and those they
come into contact with. In one famous entertainment example:
think "Walt Disney" - and the imagination employed in what
that name, individually and collectively, has produced to give
a lift to the spirits and dreams of people of all ages and races in this world. Imagination aids dreams and dreams create art and invention.

What is created reflects the time it takes place. Our own age
is marching forward with increasing reliance on the artficial
devices that illustrate and embody our own views of what is
necessary for our progress. Perhaps that goes hand in hand,
so to speak, with the ongoing fascination with what lies beyond
our own Earth and the devices sought to enable that adventure
to continue to....(fill in your own gaps). Were we given two
legs so that we should stare up towards the heavens for a
purpose as yet kept from us?

The confusions, contradictions and alienation involved in emerging sexuality that is not of the "usual" sort are captured
here. The girl using the word "fairy", no doubt artlessly, recalls
the previous use of the word "pansy" from another time. It is
one of the better aspects of life today that society has moved on
so remarkably in such a comparatively short time.

The lily of innocent life being torn by the thorns of irrational and unreasoning hatred? A cycle that seems endemic in certain
parts of the world, more's their shame and unrelenting lack of pity.

The festering feelings and barely withheld mentions
Of resentment for others' "good intentions".
Well put in these lines. But that man Moulton has made their
existence more tolerable with his two-wheel whizz of an
invention.

This subject puts me in mind of the tree my son planted in our local country park when he was at primary school, and the blackthorn bushes I planted there some years ago.
Assuming a UK population of roughly 67 million, if each person planted one tree per month for one year, I reckon that would be an additional 804 million trees in the UK! Have I got my maths right?
Apart from the mental health benefits of being in nature…the Woodland Trust reckon we need 1.5 million hectares of additional woodland to reach net zero carbon. A win-win situation!

I can appreciate its intensity. I only hope it is not autobiographical.

It interests this primarily agnostic Englishman that whilst
the essential "message" of religion is to "love thy neighbour as
thyself", it is given no more than lip-service when other
factors come into play. Flexibility seems the hidden code in
religious belief!
