Very resonant CBT. Three of my eight grandchildren were premature, two just over a pound in weight, another was three pounds. Those first weeks are living hell.

Cynthia poetry is what you say it is, it does not have to rhyme nor make sense- North American natives' chant wordlessly to summon up thier gods. Tommy xx

ps keep up your excellent work. TC

I rather like those programmes recently cobbled together like “It Was Alright in the 80’s”. Full of racism and sexism. I don’t consider myself either But neither am I into denial. We laughed at them. We made jokes ourselves then we wouldn’t now.
But what I really like is the hypocrisy of the TV companies. By fetching on a few observers who feign shock/horror at the sexism/racism/ableism/ageism the TV company can show it all again in a back door way.
Of course, if no-one watched it, it would die a death.

I wasn't a Doddy fan, and I wasn't impressed by his tax evasion...but he did stay loyal to his home town, unlike most other Liverpudlians whose accents grow stronger the further away they live.

I like the poem, and not wishing to put a dampener on things, butterflies are not as purposeless as you suggest. Their purpose is to further their species, therefore their whole life is dedicated to feeding, finding a suitable site, and laying eggs.

Early bird catches the worm
like an early hot summer sunrise
as it begins to burn
my mind on fire
inspiration my desire
not to destroy or conquer
not to tear apart nature
but photosynthesis
on the theme of matter.

Ken Again, negativity. Why assume all these adverse things will happen? As far as unity goes, we are closer to and more influenced by the U.S. and still will be trade deal or no trade deal.

Thanks for the comment Graham.
Political alignment is equally important as trade. And in my and many others opinion leaving the EU was a shattering retrograde step which brought political disunity with our European neighbours together with a devalued pound, high inflation, and substantial higher prices for food. It will take a generation to get back to the levels of prosperity we enjoyed in the common market.

As someone commented to me on an earlier blog regarding history.
People forgetful of past painful international historical events are doomed to repeat these same emotion driven reactionary cycles over and over again. To the detriment of international wellbeing.

Hi Col. I'm just going back over the comments on my back efforts, and sorry to say I missed yours here. Apologies. There is beauty and intrigue that comes with local names for sure; my favourite is the names of Cornish mines for example, but every town has some goodies. London indeed has some great ones! I bought a ceramic hedgehog and called him nameless. Don't ask me why, but it stuck.
I think my Mum was quite taken with the area, bless her.

Cheers, Ray

I can well understand the trepidation and the thrill of the dive Cynthia, as I overcame fear of the water at age 28, and did the top board at last. This is an unwinding poem, beginning, a bottom and a top, and takes us all the way spectacularly ! Nice and engaging.
