Pub Quiz Theory
Albert Einstein got an i-pad,
flicked the switch on – turned off his brain,
played Candy Crush and Donkey Kong -
was never quite the same again.
He won a quiz night at the pub
by Googling facts and anagrams
and when the music round came up
he slyly swiped to get Shazzam.
He became the talk of the town -
a brainy bastard – all could see,

Life is too short and so
to save time,
to be efficient.
I wear an Einstein wardrobe;
white blouse, black jeans, boots, yet
when a kaleidoscope of colour
flounces before me, I envy
I indulge in the dream of being
free to reside in sparkling rainbows
simply dancing, with no destination
kicking away scrumpled up “to-do” lists

Art as the Gaining and Practise of Wisdom
What are you doing this morning? – and will you play again
your lustrous fiddle for the coins strangers drop into your hat?
Or have you moved on from hustling Trafalgar Square
where the floating Yodas connect like Einstein's cat?
Either way, your art creates its beauty by merely becoming
the eloquent centre of its universe, its mimet...
