They come to me when things are still
And leave me without choice to hear
The things I've heard and know too well
Of tired topics,
To be clear
I, myself and just the ears
Without chance to think, or speak
It seems all I do is overhear
Their endless banter of
Seldom, do I have a moment
Today, for instance
Was particularly loud

Pick and choose it
It's so beautiful-
Isn't it beautiful?
I spin it and
Flip it upside down
This way is better
I like this much better
Hold it together and

I find myself yawning again and again,
But I can't sleep, which is a real pain.
I lie on my left side, then on my right,
But, for me, there is no sleep in sight.
Next, I turn and lie flat on my back,
But, of any sleep, there is still a lack.
