I think Boris remains popular & gets away with a lot by visiting many workplaces (even during Covid) & making laughable comments & attempts at what they do.

Its beauty is undeniable, Brenda. It can also be a bit of a nuisance - the two things are not incompatible. Thanks for a fine poem.

DRM - there is a reason why the use of the words "liar" and "lie" are taboo in Parliamentary discourse. Care to guess why it's so?
I take the view that in a business in which even the words "yes"
and "no" can be fraught with danger and disaster to their users,
the words "honourable" and "hypocrisy" make uncomfortable
companions. Posing as one thing whilst performing as another
has long been the accepted pretence in politics.

It is the use of content that imbues this politically flavoured
message with such panache. .

Thanks, David. Good to see a bit more protest poetry here. There's a joke doing the rounds ... perhaps you've seen it? A passer-by asks Boris Johnson for directions. Johnson points him one way, his interrogator goes the other. 'Where are you going?' the PM cries. 'Don't you watch the news?' is the reply. Well, it made me laugh. Whatever BJ says, the opposite is true, is turning out to be a very reliable rule of thumb. The statistics authority made that very point to him only yesterday, when he claimed crime had gone down, when it had actually gone up. What can you do with such a man?

Thank you M. C. Newberry for posting comments. I feel making self priority is important because many times out of kindness we tend to neglect ourselves and just for sake of helping others, we spoil our mental peace. Which later spoils our terms with them. I would ask my younger self to have boundaries while staying kind.

Thanks guys for all your kind comments. To answer your question Greg he described himself as the anchor man, holding the line. Far too cautious to swing for sixes. He was also the captain of Ormskirk Saint Anne's table tennis team, who were top of the Southport League (Division One) for many years.

There is undeniable logic in putting one's self first. Primarily, by
doing so it is possible to be in a position to help others. Those
who cry "selfish" are basically saying "You're not thinking of ME."

Thank you, Holden and John. It occurs to me that there are people and places that one only meets in dreams, and usually only very briefly or indistinctly. These situations are often combined with fear or anxiety. This poem was an attempt to sum all that up.
I am so pleased that you enjoyed it.
My thanks to Laura and Nigel for liking this poem.
