First Snowdrops

On a dull February morning
I see a little ray of light
In a sheltered spot of my garden
they appear delicate and bright

Like a group of people in a crowd
collected they stand together
Fragile, dainty white parasols
braving the harsh winter weather

I often imagine they grow here
to protect fairies from the rain
An umbrella to shelter under
until they can take flight again

When they are not protecting fairies
they are a sign that spring is near
A symbol of hope and brighter days
bringing us all much needed cheer

Throughout these dull and dark winter days
like hardy snowdrops we should be
Standing together sturdy and strong
spreading hope and positivity

I really liked the personification of snowdrops, sent on a mission, a band of brothers and sisters 😀 Thank you, Julie. Super poem.
