Any trips on FUN BUS
Are free, and so no fare
What we have to watch out
Gina not turn up bare
Now on the other hand
We secretly might hope
She will indeed shed off
But Brian, will he cope?
As creator of this FUN BUS
And Gina's ABC's
'Tis me who decides what happens
'Tis me who holds the keys
?

Hi, thanks for your comment on "French Heat". (I'm replying to comments in the middle of the night as it is the only time cool enough to think. There I go, complaining again.)

Thanks for the comments everyone. Still hot. Still British, complaining about French heat.
I did end up drinking a beer
It was not a good idea
Now I'm feeling over-heated
My head swims when I'm not seated

JC - I've never succumbed to the idea that kids are always
little saints - or poor little devils just waiting to redeemed;
a view given credence by the very recent vile act by a
young girl against the elderly cat belonging to a great niece
...tortured and then killed. Police won't act without the
either the body or reliable evidence - restricted by word
of mouth between local kids that saw the fate of the
"missing" cat come to light...as things do when kids get
together and finger-pointing recriminations occur as some
experience guilt - or the desire to look after number one!

Disappointed we are not

I really like it. Very vivid imagery about a hot summer evening, with a couple of intriguing questions thrown in - "furtive glance", the last line as Don says. Thank you!

Cruelty - like stupidity - to which it is closely related - is the
bastard offspring of fearful ignorance.

Topical indeed - tho' I'm still able to enjoy a glass or two
of whatever I fancy. That said...
If the tar on the road is melting
Or a pavement's a slippery slide,
You can bet they'll both take a belting
From the ranks of the "never satisfied"!

I poke my chickens with a stick too when they are at the far end of their little hen house and I can't get them to come to me. I'd rather not get fertilizer all over my pants, so I have to reach in with a stick to shoo them out.
On a side note, have you ever tried to catch a White Leghorn single-handedly? If you need a good workout, or you just hate sitting around all day, give it a try. . .You won't hate me one bit for recommending it.?

P.S. I think you meant to put 'breathe' not 'breath' on your 7th line.
Either way, it's a good piece.?
