Well actually it was created this morning to ward off cougars and bears on my walk with my dog lol. I have been making up little songs so the wild life does not come and eat us. My dog Beau agreed with the message this little ditty imparts.

I think this has a sort of Bukowski feel to it, bleak and ironical. Nice touch the lawnmower - everything has to look right with some people.

A beautiful poem Hazel, which for me started off as I read it as a metaphor for life in the way our lives can be so fragile. But that is just me
Interestingly I read somewhere that a mayfly only exists for one day in may when it hatches.
Anyway I love the poem

Not sure this quite what John Lennon had in mind about doing it in the road. But none the less as Colin suggests maybe you should produce a white album Lynn

Thanks to Colin for liking

Thanks to David and Cynthia for reading . I always value more input.
Cynthia thanks for pointing out my typos. I am afraid I am very lax in such matters so I always appreciate you picking these up.

David thanks for being so thorough in your comments. I do find cities and towns both quite stimulating and exciting for writing. Manchester rarely fails me in that regard where as central London is great on one level but makes me suffer with sensory overload. I take my hat off to any one working there.
I take your point about Whitechapel. Although I am not familiar with it my sister in law use to reside off the mile end road and that had a great buzz of activity, although I don't know what its like now.
As you say extreme temperatures does seem to do strange things to people. Watch this space .

Thanks again guys
Much appreciated

Enjoyed this very much - a real sweep of canvas, killing details making a whole, and expertly executed. Great ending.

This could go badly awry. I'm not familiar with the 'video' mentioned, and could easily take the work entirely as the author's personal stance, venomous, fixated and dangerous.

Is the photo intended to be a clue?

I have to say I do like a little bit of reliability in my life, but my wife doesn't , although I think we balance each other out without resulting to being boring and I think as I get older I am loosing up. Kate - thank you very much.

Brian - they have found fossils of Dragonflies with 30 inch wing spans that are 325 million years old! Now that is amazing.

Frances - i have a very loose definition of 'a few short days'

Cynthia - Both! When I heard about the life cycle of the dragonfly I related immediately and decided it was time to stop forever re-inventing myself and to accept that this is who I am, this is what I do, these are my people, these are my places - it's time to stop and enjoy this and this and this.

Why don't they give us a chainlink here to dear old Frankie.. Now 80 and probably yodeling his sweet cotton sox off to the delight of all nursing home dears. You're right Brian, I thought I was hearing things, but I'm not. It's very faint. Wobbly faint voices all yodeling together. Ah, Frankie, you're a legend. Good British stock.

Well I'll yodel be
No yodeler did see
Down here where I do exist
In good old Australee

You sure it is worldwide?
A yodeler I did tried
To find a'yodeling in my town
I did look far and wide

No Julie Andrews echoes
I heard from my dear hills
I even op'ed my ears real wide
To search for yodeling rills

Maybe the Yodely people
Thought we too holy-dodle
To 'preciate the subtleties
Of well-called holy-yodels ?
