DISSOLUTION OR UNITY : ALEXIS KARPOUZOS

GOODREADS :ALEXIS KARPOUZOS OFFICIAL SITE

We live in a time of cosmic bifurcation, we live in a time of unprecedented existential threats to life on Earth, including climate change, deforestation, food insecurity, and wildlife numbers in free fall, human overpopulation. the society is in turmoil. There is more and more violence. There’s more and more conflict. We are acting as if we are unconne...

The Game of Life

Is this life just one big game

In which there are no rules?

We are given different challenges

That we solve with different tools.

We all start in different places,

Then go in our own directions,

But if at times we go awry

We can often make corrections.

Our aim is to be happy

And to avoid distress.

And as we play this complex game

We'l...

Circumambulation

I May Be Wrong

I may be wrong but I’ll say it anyway

surely that is the point.

Jung’s theory of circumambulation says

“Give it a go”

Follow that glimmering thing

that interests you

down the path of development.

Heed the call to adventure

let new parts of you manifest.

Be the fool as precursor to

the Jedi master.

It’s an error ridden process

to ...

Chocolate Tree

There once stood a chocolate tree, a bearer of desires.

Its leaves melted when it inhaled passion.

Its fruits of fire

Set ablaze lands, verdant and barren.

Its bark was festooned in ribbons

Of rich gold and smooth caramel.

Like Midas' touch, gluttony abundant,

The tree was nothing short of magical.

I basked in the shadow of the canopy

Atop the chocolate capped grass bl...

Earthereal Enlightenment

What if the Sabbath weren’t a day
but a state of being
that permeates our earthereal Eden?

What would you keep holy?

WE NEED A SENSE OF THE UNITY - ALEXIS KARPOUZOS

We need a sense of the unity of life and of humans for the sake of human welfare and for the survival of the planet. We need a sense of unity with the cosmos so that we can connect with Reality. But we also need a sense of individuality, for the sake of our own dignity and independence and of the loving care for others. We need it to appreciate each natural form, each animal and plant, each human ...

Purple Pill

I took both pills now I’m stuck in the Matrix,
Aware of this reality yet struggling to shake it.
Can’t fake it - feels too real,
Trying to find truth in amongst the spiel.
But that’s life as we’ve been conditioned
yet what do we choose?
Can a sovereign body be abused?
Or a spirit!
Or a soul!

...

must the rabbit have a hole?
I turned right at Albuquerque, now I’m in the zone....

The Papers

Witnessing their eyes glimmer,

as their lacerated heart was bleeding,

trying. I couldn’t pressure ignorance to clot-

blood pulsing while they leered,

relishing it-

the plasma seeping those callous headlines,

exhibiting grief in a page spread

with the hatred that slowly kills.

The Debut In Philosophy

Stars cloaked the fading pallet,

a shade turning black,

a backdrop to the scene

of ticking mind,

dusk becoming the sightless engineer

that oils those thoughts

colouring them to rust,

forced to start over.

The nothingnesses

A poem from my drawerling,

to wit red notebook 1998

what is a nothingness?

solely an adumbration of

the voidness – forsakenness

an accustomary expression

an extinct volcano

– ad invinitum

the little animal

killed by the children

haply a starlet

- the dead

a ground of the bosomlet

from stone

or mayhap

the leaflet

fallen downward

the whole pict...

Controlling Our Lives?

Do we choose who we really are?
Do we decide what things we do?
Do we have the power to shape our lives?
And make our dreams come true?

Do we have a say what is in store?
And what will be our fate?
Are we in full control our minds?
Can we help it's happy state?

Or do the gods govern this world?
Is there any point in resistance?
But if you ask me who's really in charge,
I say we cont...

Questions for Investigations

The philosophers will burn themselves into fresh air the perfume of truth.

What is truth without a universe of tangible objects?

Is the perceivable reality just an allusion to what is formless? A sign post to the beyond for those no longer satisfied with a physical life?

The unconscious and sex seem to be purely motivated by a fear of death. Without that fear how would people and sexual...
