Hi Mark
Just spotted your comment on my 'If I was...' poem. Ta for that (and the extra stanza!... maybe you're right i should just keep adding to it. Hell, why stop?

Anyway - that's how I came to your page and I love your stuff - hard to choose a favourite, nice mix of sinister, playful, quirky ideas and that all important 'miserable bastard' one at the end.
Hope to catch you live some time!

Witty and unexpected turn at the end! Has a very surreal aspect with the brain on the mantle piece and can 'hear' the flow of the good intentions!

Very powerfully imagined. The play on 'lies' is deeply affecting and conveys so viscerally the unsettling discordancy of language.
So kinaesthetic too. The parchment of the 'gaping bird's throat ' ..physically shattering.Superb!

Some roads lead to nowhere

You just stand in the middle

Looking for a way out, but then

"What if I stayed here?”

good philosophical point!

the problem is not where we are all heading, it is where we all stay.

"Many a fool has been caught in the crossfire of temptation

Shot, left to die beneath scorching sun by those wronged

Still like a lizard I crawl toward new her, be dammed each nation"

I like these lines Phil, it was just getting going for me!!!!!

I reckon you can just put 'the riggin is at breakin point' as its fun to place the heart there ourselves

I love the sentiment in this poem Phil

Hi Belinda, did you know your just under me now on the poets showcase list!

I've just read your reply to me on your comments! Great stuff, don't worry made me laugh, easy to do, I commented on someone's profile once about a poem they hadn't even written, easy done!

Thanks for your comments about my sanctuary. I see what you mean about the 1st stanza, never even crossed my mind! Fair point really, but I think I'll have to leave it in as it has the title in it! It's probably in my way setting the scene, thanks though very useful.

Teaching English and learning Japanese, wow, sounds great, a friend of mine is in Thailand doing the same thing, but not learning japanese obviously!

Right brew time catching up with more poetry, feel free to look at my other months work on the blog entries (theres all sorts of stuff - even one about using the correct Queens english - you will teach 'em better than they do here!) if you get time and let me know what you think, really appreciate it!

Bye for now, Jeff X

As you can imagine, I prefer take 2 by far, love the way you've highlighted the centre of Zombieland being on the underground. I can see them on their own little missions without a care for anything else! How profound, as you said, they can't see the wood for the tress, great stuff, Jeff x

Hi Emily,
I think this shows a kind of human frailty?
We all get days like these.
I really like this one. It feels almost child-like.
Begging for protection. Feeling the need to be strong enough to be both an oven glove and an egg face.

Ah! Who says fate is of the male gender?
Personally i think she's a bitch!

Apart from that. Fate is following your destiny.
So depending on whether or not you follow the intuitive guidance from inside yourself. Fate becomes good or evil.
That's fate!

Oh well. So i've been told anyway.
That line in your poem about being the controlled and the controller is so very true.
We either allow people and things to control us and our destiny / fate, or we don't.
That's fate. Master it.

Forgot to say, love this thought provoking piece from you.
Hello, by the way.

The hardest thing to do is admit your sirst love wont be your last love
the cowardice thing to do is let your first love think your her last love

I think the above statement is great and perhaps, just perhaps, that's where the piece could end?

Usually with poems that ask questions the writer will include an answer of sorts. It may even be an answer that compels a reader to ask more questions - and so it goes on.

Just a little thing that jarred Richard - 'your' should be a contraction of 'you are' which is 'you're' you have written - let your first love think your her last love. The first is correct the second 'your' isn't.

Some great lines though - remember when your kisses led to biting. Now I bite in frustration of you.

That's women for 'ya.

Yeah, fate is indeed a funny 'un. Let me think about this for a while...

Hi Belinda, or whatever it is in Japanese!

Good to know you appreciated feedback, and thanks for your comments about my work, means a lot.

I can imagine its quite manic in many parts of Japan although I''ve never been and the frustration came through in your poem

How did you end up in Japan and what are you doing there? Apart from the capital and a few cities.

Good luck with the language - I don't know much about Japanese, apart from that all words end in a vowel or the letter 'n' - mine of useless information!

Good to hear from you, take care Jeff X
