Stand-alone intelligence

Stand-alone intelligence

I open my mind, find some small truth
With a pin I extract it; a braincell...
Well, it's proof.

If I feed it, water it, keep it warm
I might end up with 2, 10
Maybe a thousand more

I have no need to think now
With my braincell doing all the work
Finding ways to balance the economy
And...save the earth

It's a costly business, this
Brain in a jar
But it'll be worth it in the end
I can build a human car

I could solve poverty, crime
And the religious question
Appear on Dragons Den
With my latest invention

Write to the worlds leaders
Asking if they can invest in
My 'stand- alone intelligence'
It's the latest thing

Just think what I could achieve...

There simply is no limit...

To the power I could have
With my brain in a jar

Just a shame that my heart's not in it!

Dear Shelley

I like your poem; it has many mysterious lines that it makes the reader think what the writer wants to tell in those metaphors...Great Job!!

Anything with brain I love it!!
Imagine if we could not think. When brain cells die we are the Veggies... :)

Thank you,
Zuzanna

Hi Shelley,
I just adore those tiny seeds which sprout shoots and grow, grow and grow some more.
Super poem.

Witty and unexpected turn at the end! Has a very surreal aspect with the brain on the mantle piece and can 'hear' the flow of the good intentions!
