Hi Allan,

I do remember you from the Greenroom at the freed up night. Thankyou for your kind words regarding my performance. I would like to gain more experience by attending more poetry events and to meet other writers.

I have been away travelling in Japan but I'm back now. I also enjoyed your performance at the Greenroom.

Best wishes for 2008

Peter,As it is true, that its just the same old same old.The fireworks are pretty.I guess its the old romantic in me, that would love to go out for dinner and dancing, then home with the one I love to ring in the new year away from crowds and loud people. It may never happen. good poem

Dave, it is me again reading your awesome poems!

I love the imagination-how you implemented the knowledge about punctuation marks and other grammatical errors'

"Grammatical Errors

Placed on a section and pressed between these four walls,
wrote off and unpunctuated and covered in black and blue.
From waged hands I’m carelessly portrayed
disrespected and stamped with dark brown coffee stains.

A trademark that left a bad taste
I manifest on the page as a question mark
hooked and hanging,
like the misplaced apostrophes;
I’ve lost my sense of belonging."

I found that those punctuation marks are very important, especially when someone does the recording for a specific write. This poem has a great educational values.

GREAT WRITE!!

Happy New Year 2008!

I will be interested to read more of poems...Zuzanna

Hello Dave

When I came to your Biography page, I have learned more about your motifs and the ideas why you love writing. I must admit that I have been employed in Rehabilitation Institution for over twenty years. I guess this will be the outlet for taking the mind off from the daily grind if someone has to deal with other people health issues. I found your writing very interesting. Your poetry is very easy to understand.

The poem -- "Lightness"

It was all black and bleakness until the Greek man boarded,
he must have been twenty five stone plus.
My friend and I helped him with his suitcase
as he wrestled with his breath."

This wonderful write has a depth of a traveler a someone who is not sure what he will encounter in a new place. Then the delicious description of a wonderful Greek food, cheeses...etc...
I love this type of poetry.

Great presentation and pleasant to read.
You have done an excellent job on that Poem!!

Malcolm~ The picture in your poem again is very well described! The Moon shows the fazes slowly through your write.

"That lunar lady though!
Always sickly,
she wastes.
I have seen her reclining.
So thin,
as if she might disappear.

Next thing you know,
she is all bloated.
Lolling about.
Same pallor.
Same shadowed complexion,
but fat."

Your comparison to a sickly lady that really makes me thing about your hidden thoughts and your way of writing. led slowly into deep thinking what you the writer wanted to conwey to a reader.

I must say you are VERY CREATIVE!

Thank you for another great poem...Zuzanna

Hello Malcolm

I love bulls too. They are proud animals. They seems not to be afraid of anything. In case of sensing danger they begin to charge. I have seen this in my life but few times. My favorite animals are German shepherd Dogs and Horses. Those are my favorite. Thought will share this with you since we are both animal lovers.

Thank you for the wishes. Hoping for a wonderful and Peaceful year around the World.

Sincerely, Zuzanna

Happy New Year to you Zuzanna. I really do love bulls. They are magnificant and I was really pleased to see this one making his own decisions.

The jerks who kill bulls in the bull ring in an orgy of power, sex and violence are beneath contempt. I would like to see my bull's horn right up the arse of some cocky, preening matador. Might be a nother poem there.

Phil- This entire poem is really great you have placed a lot of metamorphosis in this piece and I loved the comparison of a single naked letter
to a white virgin page.-- this is so creative and lovely.

"A single letter is as naked and vulnerable as the virgin white page

The thrust of sentiment comes from the streams that forge the channel

Could it be the start of lover’s dreams to slip letters between sheets?"

Thank you for another great read!

Hello Malpoet~ I love this write! My thought went immediately to Spain thinking of those Bulls they are being used for the Corrida'- I am sure it is almost the right name for this particular sport or Festival over there in Neigbouring country. But your IMAGINATION was even better when you mentioned that he was looking for cows...Smile

"The great ring in your nose
by which your mighty strength
had been controlled,
was now a bold piece of jewellery
setting off the beauty
of your face."

This stanza is fabulous!!
Today even people were this type of jewelry in their pierced nose. Kind opf interesting how your description here fits the decoration on this Bull face...Great metamorphosis !

Thank you for the great read.

Thanks for reading my poems. Im glad you liked them.To be honest I dont have a favorite poet, not a dead one anyway.LOL That sounds strange, but it seems they become famous after death. I fell into poetry on my own due to deep heartaches, due to life. I have read many poems, some famous, some not.Baudelaire and TS eliot , Eugine Field, Edmond Spencer, Hum ,so many had a few nice poems.I grew up reading Eugine Field, so I guess hes a favorite!

Great poem Peter! I can really understand this one, as I was and still am the smallest and thus did get picked on by bullies. Not sure If I ever told you about the time I was a student in an inner city school of st louis in the 60s, was an experience, I was one of about 5 white students in an all black school. I learned to run fast, as everyday I had threats, and was subject to name calling and hitting. they took my lunch everyday, when my Grandmother found out, she made 2 lunches for me, one for the girl that took mine and one for me.I think the experience was in ways good for me,now that I look back on it.I dont hate them, I have pitty for them. I do think a good spanking would have helped many and to this day think a good swat would work wonders.great poem!

malcom this is a great poem. Years ago I worked with a group to try and get them off the street. Then the state shut down the mental hospitals and released all pts into the streets. Now there are so many.I see that my government likes to purchace bombs and give special holidays to sports players or give themselves a raise! I will point out this job was given to the churches, was commanded by GOD.But there I see decadence, golded robes, well the wealth is there to see, and they do small things like feed a few.I dont know, thought provoking poem here, sorry on any sp coffee has not made it to my fingers yet! thanks

Hello Phil, nice meeting you. I am new to this site. I have read all your poems and your poetry are excellent! They have a lot of life events in them. Your are excellent in expressing yourself through your pen. The style fascinates!

"Writing
Writing ignites a spark in me
Lighting flames of creativity
Heat warms me to my sole
Gives freedom and control

Words form and pour out of me
As does rain from atop a tree
A steady flow forms into a line
Word line begin to inter-twine

Each line or twine begins to form
I tease them together to reform
Into poems with a turn of phrase
My words flow to the next phase"

I have enjoyed this poem a lot. It tells a lot about your love for writing. This is my best choice for today. I am sure I will come across more of your writes. Please feel welcome to read some of mine and let me know what you are thinking. It is good to hear other people opinion about the thoughts behind particular write.
