Pieces of heroism hide within this heart

only small but sometimes they come to the surface

like when I see someone being told they are worthless

or being bullied by the bigger and so called better

being a hero is standing up for what you believe

believing you can achieve in the face of negative criticism, ridicule and cynicism

being a hero is speaking out when you see something happening which is wrong

having the strength to be strong in the face of fear

we can all be heroes we just believe we are zeroes

with nothing to offer

bystanders to injustice.

No matter how small

or how old you are

you don’t have to suffer in silence

you don’t have to use violence

you just have to make a stand for what you believe

and say enough is enough!
