Fabulous and mighty!
The painting depicts the feelings perfectly too - did you paint that in a fit of rage? ; )

Tremenjus Gus.
Atmospheric, sinister, reinforced by the rhythm and repetition.
You should look at Augusta Darling's stuff. I think you'd get a taste for it.

great stuff Gus. Seems to me like the opening verse of an epic. A Hiawatha for the twenty-tens.

Fabbo! Ancient, dream-like vibe without descending into archaic language and a dozen cliche traps neatly side-stepped. That is a real skill.
Beautiful.
Thank you.

Good Evening Marianne
You have excelled... this is a wonderful almost illustrated piece.
I loved ;
shuddering; salty kisses falling on her lips.
Her smile, her smile, he held bewitched
in ripples eclipsed in the dewy light
Well done again .
Gus xx

This sort of honesty is tough to write. Hard to read too. Hanging it on the colours of the rainbow is an inspiration.

Sometimes a fantastic line makes a poem.
For me here it is;
the tears I cry know no line

Quote
Her smile, her smile, he held bewitched
in ripples eclipsed in the dewy light
that touched her face, like a sleeping child,
and whispered, once, and only once,
his keeping heart, “Good night”.
Unquote
Lovely lines.
I like the opening stanza, the continuity of the language and way it feels in the palate upon reading.
tactile and soft.

Thanks for commenting and spending time with my 'musing' poem. Yes, poetry is not dead... but outside the realm of poets and poetic pursuits there is quite a dearth there that it sometimes seems a dying art form. I don't believe in my heart that poetry can die. As long as there is breath and words in the heart and the tongue... there poetry always will be.

Enjoyed the poem.Third verse is lovely. I struggled with the meaning in a few places, notably
Still blemished weights of coherence
lie, carve to memory those that last.
I formed the impression it was a mother's lament for a child, but I'm often way off the mark.

This is exceptional writing. Precise. But beautiful."Witnesses can tut and tsssk, queue to sign my page for free...Shout out loud that they've been there," I like what that alludes me to...and "The most liquid of loves now warm my bones." - brilliant. I'll top up my glass to that one.
