If you can make it bring a few copies of your book and I can always put it on our blog.

You compose fluidly with a haunting beauty that eludes most writers. Your diction delights, your structure woos and the hidden drummer within your lines pulses like a heart.
And I'm done. Can't believe I've really said that - but I'm not changing it.

Brilliant.
Your profile is candid, and very interesting. You have set an enormous stage for your work with boundless material to explore (like life itself, yes?)

This is ripe catharsis. But, unlike many outpourings, it is worth sharing because it still has a 'considered element' as though you have thought through your ideas/feelings, and recognised the universality of them.
You have posted a very specific profile. I really commend you for such honesty. In many ways, I feel like a soulmate. I think you would enjoy more of my work, and I mean that without being pushy.
My name is just my name. I am my past as well as my present; my husband was a bit sniffy about it at first, but he is fine now. I think he felt threatened, undervalued. I felt unvalued, as a woman who had ceased to be a whole person the minute she married. I wasn't having it.

I'm wondering whether there should be a walk instead of a talk in line 2?
I love the poem Katy - it's a bit Bridget Jones - I love the vulnerability - you capture it perfectly.

If I ever perform this it will be off paper - I only commit to memory things that I really love or feel proud of. Not that I'm ashamed of this - it's just a bit of fluff and musing - nothing more! But I'm glad we made a connection on the table groove - I'm sure you and me would both have a lot of shit that could fall down there ;) x

Thanks Francine and Laura - I don't know if I'll ever perform this one - it's a bit prosy - but I'm glad you appreciated the humour in it :)
As for the ending - I think I've been a bit over inspired by the 52 hertz theme - I always belly laugh at my own jokes too ;)) xx

Hi Sarah I liked "Before the Bike" a lot, its funny as what struck me is your damning of a bike which we think of as noble compared to the car for obvious reasons, yet your right in your poem that often so much is missed as we travel at any kind of speed beyond our two legs.
Nice
Regards Richard

A great review - one that had me reaching for my dictionary on a couple of occasions - but interesting and informative.
'intense solipsism' - I'm beginning to find this wearisome. I was going to do a couple of reviews myself recently but found I just didn't have the stomach to read or comment on whole books based around one person's life experiences. What poetic footprint are we leaving? A collection of individual life stories, I think... throw away poetry that you won't remember beyond this generation.
