Thoughts of the rebel MP's

We know you want Jeremy Corbyn

but we don’t give a shit,

you must have one of us instead

so we’ve chosen Owen Smith.

We acted unconstitutionally

but that don’t really matter

as we care not for democracy

and we’re learning all the patter,

using double-speak in the press

because they’re all on our side.

The Tories don’t want Corbyn,

in fact, they’re terrified.

SCATTERBRAINED (acrostic sonnet?)

Scarcely have I thought to act in good time,

Challenging for me to remember things.

All that information lost from my prime,

Trust my memory to glide off on wings!

Those commodities I forgot to buy

Especially at supermarket stores,

Reaching home without them making me sigh

Because I have to go straight back outdoors.

Reality check comes when I appear

At venues having lef...

The Snurdle-urdle-urdle

A snurdle-urdle-urdle

Is walking up my path,

He’s ringing on my doorbell

And asking for a bath.

I don’t know how much water

This strange creature may use.

I offer two fluffy towels

Enabling him to choose.

He cheerfully takes them both,

And turns on both the taps.

Uncertainly, I leave him,

He should be fine – perhaps!

Ten minutes have now gone by,

Dangers of Brexit

We already have control of our borders

But if the vote Brexit wins

how much control do you suppose

we will have on that one in Calais

when French authorities send them all

through the tunnel or across the Channel?

Why would they wish to cooperate

with a country leaving the EU?

Why would they want a camp

of desperate people on their border?

Pesky packaging

Now, I’m rather partial to clementines, I find their tang quite tasty,

but stores now call them ‘easy peelers’ so I can’t shop too hasty.

They do the same thing with satsumas so I once bought them instead.

What do they think they are playing at? They’re messing with my head!

So rather than study fruit bags or risk being their easy target,

next time I want clementines I’ll go ask for...

Lunar Eclipse 28.9.15

Many times have I watched

but never before had I seen

at the magic

and as we watched

no telescopes necessary

the eclipse reach totality

Lukewarm Lover

Hold fast, my unwept tears; rest hard my heart,
he is not worthy of my devotion.
Raw attraction ensnared me at the start,
ardour an all-consuming emotion.
Lying in the aftermath of passion,
what is left to show of love? No caress?
It seems tenderness is out of fashion;
no warm embrace, no kiss to second guess.
His come to bed eyes, having had their way

The Icelandic PM had to resign,

his people knew just who to blame.

Is it that the British are so benign

or Cameron that has no shame?

Or is it our press that chooses to cheat,

that continues ’til he resigns.
